Hey everyone
Just a quick question. I'm a master Commando/TKM. I have heard in these forums that feign death is very useful for soloing mobs, which is something I do often. However, I was wondering, at what box of the dirty fighting tree is this command effective. I believe the first book gives +45 to feign death, then +10, +5, and +10 again. The 45 seems to be the biggest boost. What kind of difference do the other box give. Any help you could give me with this would be great. Thanks.

Ive been playing with just the first box for a while (been using the pistol xp for the pistoleer defense) on my way to master smuggler/master commando/pistol defense. It has never failed me against anything (including such beauties as death watch ghosts and death watch wraiths on endor).

Really??? Wow, that would be perfect since i need the other skill points to put towards the FS ranged defense now.

I'm a Master Smuggler/Master Commando. it works thusly
Run up to mob, apply liberal amounts of flame
/feign (Be sure not to wait until the very last second to /feign Once they start chewing you up, take a break)
Heal while burn DOTs work their magic
When the fire goes out, stand back up, rinse and repeat until all foes are charbroiled.
Couple words of caution...
One. unless you like being called names...don't use this tactic while grouped. Unless you really hate the people who insist on tagging along with you.
Two. You will be immediately aggrod on as soon as you stand back up.

You have the template I'm after.
How is this workingn out for Pv*
And what did you spend your left over SP on?
As far as feign death goes I used it to fend off a bark mite on Endor.
It worked to keep the little %#^ away from me whileI was out planting harvesters for a friend and wasn't equiped for a fight of any kind.
Normally I'd have toasted it but It was late and I was tired and wanted to go to bed.

PvE it works great...as long as I don't get too overconfident. I take out Death Watch spawns on endor all the time solousing this method. It amuses me to watch these guys wander about on fire as I take a nap.
PvP this isn't a good tactic to use...but the template does have it's uses 1 on 1 PvP. got a little macro that goes...
/lowblow;
/panicshot;
/peace;
/ui action toolbarSlot05; (This switches to the flame thrower)
/flamesingle2;
Works well vs the melee peeps who like to run up and knock me down. I get the kd in first (hopefully) and/or delay (hopefully), then spritz them with a little bit of napalm. then (if buffed) I switch back to my pistol and run away spamming last ditch.
I put the last of my points into pistoleer so I can use a geo blaster for those really tough stains.

Oriana - we sooooo have to go hunt or kill together - We have much in common my friend. Theres nothing like the smell of a little spritz of napalm here and there. Why did you put so much into smuggler - For the money? I was thinking of just the dirty fighting line for the specials, the rest in pistol defenses/specials and the like. What do ya think?

It can tick people off in PvP. That's always fun (especially if they clone camp you... then you can just FD and go AFK till they get bored.)

What can I say, I like taking two broken professions and making something better...
Seriously, I realize there are some better templates out there, but Smuggler/Commando seems ideally suited for my personality. Smuggler calls to me because the attitude really.
And I'd like to dispell the myth that smugglers rake in money. I earn far more wealth running missions than I would ever see by slicing or selling spice (Like anyone buys spice anymore.)
But I do like some of the benefits of being able to slice my own gear (especially the consumables and armor.) Also, when I do die in PvP, i'm only worth half the faction (and only lose half the faction.)

i'm MCommando/MSmuggler and the rest in medic...
the only way smuggler makes money on slices is when you get that /tall when you're out in the middle of x planet in the middle of cooking something for dinner (i've gotten a taste for krayt as of late)... then it's like 100k per item... and some ppl will pay it...
but i love the combo... i'm a 2 trick pony
... plus you can slice your own stuff, it makes the rocket launchers even more fun without the extra price of getting others to slice...
last ditch with a LP is fun too

Feign Death can get you out of the DWB when it all goes to pot and your leader takes a wrong turn to Haldo then a wrong turn to the Jetpack Crafting room
, I tried Feign/Flame on Axkva Min once btw
I got her down to about 390/416k HAM before the Protectors killed me.
