Thread: flame IV + BH LLC and carbines....is this what commando is supposed to be?

Soem of you may have followed me endeavours with M Commando/Carbineer 2002/FS melee speed Ion this forum...


for kicks I've switched over 2 days ago to Flame IV + BH 0404 + novice carbineer + FS melee speed III


Main reason is I had this LLC made, and it got a nice speedslice (original speed was 3s)

The set up for this template was just about the same as for my commando/carbineer


M Commando/Carbineer 2002:


-stick flames

-put states with FAS2, then KD with actionshot/chargeshot

-stick mega DOT with flamer or woop out the HPBC and RL (depends what range I'm at when they go down)


Pro's:


-FT accuracy +30 vs flame IV makes a big difference in PvP it seems

-HPBC and RL do A LOT of damage

-when using the consumables you're out of melee range when they get back up (before you killed em lol)


Con's:

-What to do if you can't KD someone and use consumables? wearing em down with flame dots takes time + requires melee range...which hurts with 0 defenses

-carbine speed/accuracyto low you'll need a very fast, very accurate carbine





Flame IV commando + BH 0404

-stick flames

-put status with confusion shot (works really well)

-switch to LLC for some mega whoop ass damage




Pro's

-when your target is stunned/intimidated you can always use the LLC

-flame dot + LLC = hard time for opponent

-superior carbine skills, confusionshot > fas2, fire KD and underhandshot > charge shot.

-superior carbine speed/accuracy

-LLC damage dealing almost on par with consumable!!!! (DPS wise I think they ARE equal)


Con's

-losing 30 accuracy on the FT makes a bigger difference then I expected

-you need to be in melee range for damage dealing...which hurts on target you can't KD

-even lower defenses than the other template (not that it matters lol)




Anyhow....I feel the carbine is the most logical commando firearm....coupled with two non consumable heavies that work, this template feels more like commando then the other


it's has also convinced me that FT with ap1 would probably be a bit unbalanced lol....with the LLC at 820 max damage I hit up to 1.6k on KD opponents!!!!!

i dont have much other input other than, ive tried (close to, at least) the latter one (on testcenter with the blue frogs) and it was mostly for PvE, but i tried it in pve and it rocked actually. i would rush in with carbine and stun,blind,dizzy,knock down, all that good stuff. then take out flamer and get fire dots on. then out come da llc and it was a nice damage dealer.

one thing I forgot to mention:


FS melee speed does not work on any of the commando heavies, but does seem to work with the LLC. I can do single2's close to the speedcap with my 2s LLC
