Thread: Commando specials/dots, where?

Came back to the game after 2 months and now I'm desperately trying to find a good profession to make some use of the krayt weapons i have. Now since my krayt DXR6 rifles are worth jack now my next option was my krayt flamer I got made even more months ago when i was master commando. What i'm wondering now:
1. Does commando really have no flamer specials or dots anymore (apart from not working AoE) like the skill page ingame suggests
2. Is my krayt plasma flamer with base 313.83 DPS worth anything now too?

Ive had some issues aswell when my dear old weapons got converted.. sadly not all ended up good.. found some better on the Bazaar lol... :/
But the DOTs are there, they just dont show in the combat spam.. this should be reported to the devs.. Ive tested on this and seen the HAM drop without me attacking, due to DOTs.. its not as effective as it once was though, but will stagger regen on some mobs.
As for specials Im not sure, seems like the FT has buildt in knockdown effects, although I feel using a BH knockdown skill is much more reliable than the buildt in one..

commando now has no specials which meanss that you have to rely on the inbuilt commando weapon "specials " or take another elite ranged to get special attacks .
this system is BS in my opinon as now you are pretty much forced to take another elite ranged to get decent damage output from special attacks .I.e had to say bye bye to my TKA/Commando template
BH / commando works well as some of the specials allow you to hit quite hard i.e. with advanced critical shot special from BH tree and my 500 dps flamer i can hit for about 1800 damage
smuggler /commando works ok but you dont deal out a lot of damgae . smuggler has some excellent crowd control specials but no heavy damage specials like bounty hunter .
rifleman/commando might work but i havent tried this combo yet .
grenades are now pretty useless due to the delay time between throws and possibly they are bugged .

Interesting, didn't know (most?) specials were now usable for other professions as well. Still nobody can tell me if my flamer with the stated base DPS is crap or not?

My problem with grenades:
In the crate, the speeds read as:
Attack speed: 10.9
Your modified speed: 6.8
When I take one out of this same crate:
Attack speed: 109.0
Your modified speed 67.9
So it seems that grenade speeds are multiplied by 10 when you remove them from their crates.

The template I use and will keep is Master Commando/ Master Carbineer/ Pistoleer 0404. I took the Pistoleer Lines for the crowd control and the general Acc. bonuses. I also have been using a combo of nades... Proton, Cryo, Thermo, Glop, Imp Dets and C-22's. it is true you can't throw a proton back to back but you can throw another type right after the first one.
During PvP I throw the Imp Det for the mass knockdown then a Cyro for the slowing and then the Proton for the bleed and to pound on the armor a bit...lol. It seems to working just fine. Just need to try to forget how we used to do it guys and unlearn what we have learned. To be honest... DOOM in god mode was fun but it did get boring.
(p.s. If ya find any acklay venom laying around.... use it in the nades for PvP. They are a real killer then)
