Thread: Starnick AOE's not working correctly and out damaged by every other prof.

I tested commando a lot during the CU beta and have been playing as master since it went live.

on my recent trips to kashyyyk however i have decided to respec away from cammondo due to the fact that i'm being out damaged by every other ranged prof, and my AOE's are not working correctly. nor am i able to use my plasma thrower or Lightning beam cannon to kill things.


I mainly use the plasma thrower as commado and sometimes swith to the rocket launcher or acid launcher as a good change of pace. My other combat profession is BH 3/4/4/4 and novice smuggler.

I noticed in the beta stages of the CU that when using a plasma thrower or lightning beam cannon on mobs the creature that is being attacked will get to 0 health, all states will clear, combat will end but the creature will get back up again and start attacking. I then have to use a high damage special in order to put it down for good and in some cases it takes 2.


as far as AOE's go. with a plasma flamethrower and lightning beam cannon if i use a special such as concusion shot on a mob of 5 womp rats(example) most if not all of the mob will be affected by the state. however even though affected by a +root+ and all nicely grouped togetherall creatures are not taking damage. The same holds true for the lightning beam cannon. the lightning effect is meant to arc to the next closest target yet even when it does so damage that is dealt is so light i may as well not bother.

TheDOTS of the commandoweapons,(burn on FT,Burn on LBC and blind fromAL) are not sticking as much as i would expect.


I am also shocked to discover that aBH/carbine can outdamage me with a laser carbine or proton carbine. evena BHmaster level scatter pistol has a higherDPS than my rocket launcher,launcher pistol, beam cannon,lightning cannon and acid luncher) with my template of BH 3/4/4/4 master commando i was able to do more damage and kill stuff more quicklywith my BH weapons than i was with my commando.


granted that the weapons i am using are Pre CU relics and may not have converted over very well butunless the rocket launcher converted to less than half its original health, something needs to be done.


Starnick please try and get helios to come back and take a look at this because it cant be right, it jut cant be.

Ive seen some of the same.. However!.. Once I got a brand new, Post CU PFT the attacks seems to be much smoother and more effective. So Im wondering if all Pre CU FTs are wrecks when it comes to AOE effects.


So maybe someone up high should have a look at our dear old weapons to see if they can be fixed? Im also not impressed with what the conversion did to my Krayt, 35% Uber FTs.. just above avarage now.. ah well. guess Il need to make more

PFT, which can't be Pup'd = circa 500 dps.


Proton Carbine with Pup = 750=780 dps.


Pistols are worse (by that I mean better dps.....)


If we could Pup a PFT then we woucl be on a level playing field, otherwise......

I'm a LONG LONG LONG time master commando, but I'm getting tired of the waiting game. We have stuff that needs fixed and has needed fixed for quite some time. I thinka good way to fix it would be to give commando two specials at novice.


Heavy Weapon Single: This powerful single-target attack deals increased damage based on your weapon's power.


Heavy Weapon Cone: This powerful attack deals damage to all targets within your weapon's attack radius. The damage is increased based on your weapon's power.


This way, the weapons with built in special effects would still function as "specials" by applying the states, but we can control who we target better. Since damage output is increased by the weapon a novice commando will deal less damage with their RL than a master with his PFT.


AND I'D LIKE TO SEE SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN SOON! Commando's need love too.

The mobs getting back up is INSANE.


I've heard of pistoleers complaining of this as well. I don't think it's doing the math on Concussion Shot or stopping shotright, but that's a vague guess. It happens to me regardless of whatever heavy weapon I'm using. It's gotta stop.


The AOE attacks are clearly bugged as well.


If you watch the combat spam closely, you'll see the attacks acutally LAND on multiple targets but they do 0 points of damage. After roughtly 20 hours of combat since last thrusday, I've seen one, ONE multiple DOT in the combat spamdespite them all displaying the new "On fire" graphics.


Bugged, bugged, bugged. But what else is new?
