I've been meaning to bring this up a few times, but kept putting it off...

I have a issuewith the making of rocket launchers (RL), which I think needs to be addressed to make it worth crafting.


Too many subcomponents for its level!!!!! The RL needs 8 PFMs, 4PHs, 2 Scopes and 5 Proton grenades (which require 4 sub comps each themselves and are a master level weapon) to make a crappy level 22 weapon. This is like 5.5 times more parts than any other heavy weapon. The number of parts needs to be drastically lowered. I have been talking customers out of wanting them because they are not worth making at the cost. They used to be the number 1 item for taking out ATST's and turrets.

I think the components should be brought more in line with the other heavy weapons:

4 PFM

1 BPH

1 Scope

1 C12


Is this something that is in the works? Or that others agree with?

I brought this up on the weaponsmith forums, but since it is a commando weapon, you guys might have a bit more pull in getting action on this.

That or make them the high end Master Weapon for Commando. With Range equal to the longest in the game (As long as a turret with bionic arm ussage) and about 300 base DPS from a 12pt weaponsmith and the best resources.

i would rather them keep it the same, but cert it at master commando and make it godlike

Elz, your build might be fine for a light rocket launcher (anti-personnel rocket launcher, or RPG) but otherwise I agree with Titanten, keep the current build but re-cert it as a powerful (1200-1500 max damage?) Master Commando CL54, anti-armorweapon.

we've been arguing for better/higher level weapons for a while now and this is the reason. The weapon is expensive to make and to buy and it is one of the lower level ones we can use.

Keep in mind that it has an elemental damage that at the moment is not working. I was looking at a factional RL and on that one a fix to the elemental dmg would almost double the damage. So the RL might not be quite as useless as we think it is.

However I do agree with all of you. More damage or less components would make it more reasonable.


Has anyone crafted RLs and can give some crated stats ?

This has been brought up many times here and in the Commando forum, but I don't have much hope the devs will do much about it. Right now, there are too many other problems to fix.
