Thread: Adding Master Commando to a Master Smuggler Template
I’ve always been really impressed by other commandos when they were in my groups, the weapons and effects are easily the coolest in SWG, and they are relatively uncommon compared to Jedi and Bounty Hunters etc.
I havent played my Master Smuggler in a few weeks as I’ve been bored of that template. Since I’ve always wanted a Commando I thought I would add that to the template since many of the requirements are the same for both professions! I used a profession caculator and noticed that there werent any (or very few) commando specific specials, only bonuses to heavy weapons...is that correct?
Also, will I be able to use my smuggler specials like concussion shot and some BH pistols specials like underhand shot while using a heavy weapon? Any advice would be great.

I have a master commando/master smuggler/master marksman with novice carbs, pistols, and rifles. This is a great combo. Yes, you can use all your ranged specials with commando weapons. Also, the defenses of the commando are very nice. Some fun uses of commando weapons include:
Rocket launcher + concussion shot = KD/root
Flamer + Last Ditch = Massive group damage (if you are low on health)
Flamer + Restraining Shot = Group snare
Cryo Grenade + Panic Shot + Low Blow = Massive reduction in enemy firing speed
etc etc etc
I tried Last Ditch + Plasma Flamer and while the combat log registered damage my opponent did NOT take any damage. Have you tried this combo and did it work for you?

Restraining shot has no discernable effect, same for Panic Shot and Low blow. Really Concussion shot is the ONLY tool in the Smuggler toolbox at the moment. Which is one more tool than the Commandos have. *Shrug*
With that said I do use the MS/MC/pistoleer 0002 template and Bodyshot is the attack I use most frequently with all my weapons pistols and the heavies. I use concussion shot to control crowds of mobs with with heavy weapons. for damage I switch to pistols with body shot or PFT with body shot if I have room to work.
