Thread: Havent played in over 6mths need some help

I quit SWG about 6mths ago cuz of personal reasons and work, now i actually have time to play and i am really looking forward to the changes that SWG has gone throught. I was MCommando/Medic and i logged on and i am completely lost. I have all pre CU items FT at base 425.5dps i think that was what it said, 15 crates of proton grenades, and all other commando items. I was wondering do all skills work with commando now, ie legshot etc... since i noticed i dont got my flame or acid attacks any longer. I was also wondering what is a nice commando solo built if any? And if commando more of a support class then a solo class? I'm a big pvp person but i like to solo for money when needed etc.... so any help would be great!

At the moment we are entirely a "utility" profession, i.e. we just power-up other professions, not the other way around (like it should be...but I won't go there). Now for the basics:



  1. Grenades. Useless still....actually got worse. Chuck them or use 'em for decoration.

  2. All ranged specials will work with our weapons, but be warned: all of our old special heavies not dictated as a rifle now still cannot take a p'up....like our Plasma Thrower

  3. All of our weapons have some sort or a radius or AOE built in, no mater how broken they are. Don't expect to do any reall damage with our built-in specials, however: the FL is borked to high-heaven and all of our weapons are just aggro magnets.

  4. Try to find a good WS to get down the SAC (special action cost) for some of our heavies, as we normally have ours at a whopping 122......and jedi complain about their 100, lil' buggers....anyways, ya'll need a low SAC cost if you wanna pump out a lot of specials and still be breathing in battle

  5. We SUCK at solo-play if we are stand-alone. Since we are built for group "management" but our AOE specials for doing so are broken, you must be very careful when hunting alone, and personally it always helps to have some good defense/armor. While commando has been blessed with more defenses, it is better to go BH nowadays...

I know, it's a bleak future, but realize that we all thought we could go no lower pre-CU......I guess the devs kinda took it as a challenge, eh? Anyways, my advice is to grab an Acid Stream Launcher and find a local PvP battle.....good times annoying people with random states lol

if you pick up rifleman conceal.... It's always fun to sneak up on a group of people and toss an imp det (aoe kd out to 30 m)

Ok so then i can pick any ranged prof to enhance commando? And as for Armor i got 2 sets of Comp armor on me, I am currently at CL 60 and i was on Dath all mobs were red and purple also my comp armor didnt since to help too much i was getting hit for 210-400 and got DB my a NS for 948dmg one shot! lol I was lmao forgot how strong some mobs were in this game. Cant wait till i can kill them again! But any answers to these would help a lot and those are my last questions sorry for asking so many but better to ask then not know how to play =)

Well for regular PvE, you can get by with some good assault armor, which is meant for mainly kinetic protection. Oh, and your level is why ya got hit for so much dmg hehe.....thye're aroundlvl 80, so they get a dmg multiplier on ya. You cna use any ranged prof to power-up Commando, but atm it seems that Smuggles, Pistols, and BH are the crowd favorites (no pun intended......you know...crowd control.....yeah..... ). Please disregard my complete lack of a good sense of humor lol . Good hunting, soldier!
