Thread: God I miss the old days.

I sure as hell don't miss the old days.
You had to stand in loooooong buff lines to even fight. If you were unbuffed, YOUR OWN specials would kill you in 4 shots, LOL.

mm, i held my own unbuffed : ) and just had to know a good buff bot, cheaper prices and shorter lines usually.
Buff lines, EVERYONE in Composite Armor, False Doctors that refused to heal diseases, since all they wanted to do was do Buffs and make credits. Doctors refusing to heal... outrageous ****.
DEFENSE STACKING, 85% SABERBLOCK, soloing practically everything in game except for the places like the Corvette and DWB.
Wearing Factional Armor was a screaming beacon of "Kick Me."
Legendary Weapons. They had Legendary Damage Capability, Legendary DOTs, Legendarily Large DOT uses, Legendarily Low HAM Costs, and quite often, Legendary Condition (no decay, even without ADKs). Legendary T21s and those infamous DOT Pikes. Those DOT Pikes were so good that they were the sole reason Pikeman became FOTM. These Legendary Weapons absolutely dominated PVP. I thank the devs these weapons are for all intents and general purposes, GONE.
Absolute, total domination of the game with MELEE characters... in a STAR WARS game! Melee dominated so much that they brought fear into Jedi when Jedi became as common as kernels of Corn in my ****.
Flavor Of The Month was in high, High, HIGH swing in the old system. If you weren't a FOTM, then you were WRONG if you had any inclination to compete.
I'm glad the old system is gone.

The old system was frustrating, slanted, time-consuming, and broken to hell.
And fun as hell

Buff lines, time to sit down, and take a rest.... Sure everyone in comp, but at least you could color yourself as you wished without having a new suit made. True, but I never had that problem.

a hefty price, I pay it gladly
Wearing Factional Armor was a screaming beacon of "Kick Me."
Yep! And I wore it all the time!

Yeah, but still, adapt and overcome. I did.

I could blow away a melee char ![]()

Yet the Commando Spirit held strong
I'm glad the old system is gone.
Im not.

The queen sucks. The king was great. He should be avenged
Personally, I hated how combat was (from a commando's viewpoint) right up to the CU...in the beginning I liked it, but it steadily got worse. Now, I enjoy combat more...things are a bit still stable, but we are still...unfortunately...from how it once was

It had moments, that's for sure, but when everything is taken into account...

Taking a rest, waiting for 15 minutes in Ahazi's or Bria's Buff Lines was not an idea of taking a rest for me. Go AFK while in line? Someone's cutting in front of you. People wearing different colors of the same armor is still everyone wearing the SAME armor. However, I do question the removal of the color customization for Composite Armor in the CU.

It isn't exactly a "price to pay" when you're practically invincible for almost everything in the game. NO challenge. I could get my buff, get my 90% Resist Composite Armor on, run missions, and FALL ASLEEP while doing missions. And wake up and everything around me is dead. Again, NO challenge.
Wearing Factional Armor was a screaming beacon of "Kick Me."Yep! And I wore it all the time!
I sure as hell did too back then. Going Overt, wearing Stormtrooper Armor, and wearing the Master Commando tag. But again, if you weren't wearing Composite Armor, you were wrong back then.90% Resist Composite w/ one or two vulnerabilities > 30% Resist Factional Armor with a ton of vulnerabilities
Of course, having Factional Armor on and having a Master Commando tag nearly guaranteed being taken out first in group PVP!

It is still ridiculous the amount of Legendary Gear out there at the time. Again, DOT Pikes so good, that Pikeman became FOTM just because of it. Before, the DOT Pikes, Pikeman was just as rare as Master Creature Handlers are today.

And melee dominance goes completely against everything we have seen in any Star Wars movies. The Rebel Alliance and Empire did not field armies of sword, pike, twig-wielding troops. Blasters were what the militaries and local forces were equipped with, and won with. You could look around in the group fights back then and barely make out a blaster bolt flying by as melee weapons and fists / feet were flying about. Jedi are the special exception, of course.

It did, that's for sure. But it got stronger the closer we got to the CU. I saw it as the chance for Commando to come out of the gutters. Then those hopes came crashing down...
I'm glad the old system is gone.Im not.
I am!

He'll be avenged the moment we get a Jedi Free Server and a little more fiathfulness to continuity
/SmashShovelOnKingHead
/KickKingBodyIntoDitchGood riddance to the old regime!
