Thread: Smuggler/Commando Question
Its a decent template. The AoE of Commando weapons mix well with the mezzes of Smuggler. However, dont expect to be doing alot of damage, since neither one has any dedicated full time high damage specials. I would also suggest investing in defensive CA/AA's, and offensive natured CA/AA's, since neither profession offers much.
Its a fun little template, I did it for about a month. But lack of offensive output encouraged me to change over to pistoleer, though it isnt THAT much better. A couple more damage specials, slightly better mods. I'm a pistol guy, thou, when not using my Heavy Weapons. Plus I have a small fortune in Heavy Weapons and Pistol modded clothing/armor.

That's what I plan on doing, with the heal line of CM. At 4000 CM I can heal for 1300. My biggest disappointment is that Commando seems to be more like a 'layered' profession, instead of it's own legit prof.
It seems Commado would be useless without some other profession to leach special attacks off of. Butbeing a old retired commando myself, I believe it should eventually get looked at when they are done nerfing jedi and revamping smuggler.

mezz, unequip weapon, thenuse the cob from unarmed tree that gives you +250 def for 30 sec or so,equip weapon, fire your crap damages, heal, redo fast.

my main problem is the damages output in pvp, it really...blah ![]()
If only commando weapons were better...

actually using cob works quite good for me.
I dont have it on a macro. just a shortcut on the toolbar since i would usually mez or/and kd before using it
using master commando/master smuggler and cm 4xxx i try to
kd or mez
runcob
debuff
spamreckless shot since it my most damaging special with flamer or rifle.
cob may help here since reckless shot lower my defenses
there s just a little problem :
I soon run out of action or i cant do enough damages before the guy in front starts spamming 600 800 critical shots or whatever , then i have to debuff him again , heal me...cob is finished, i mez him again, unequip weapon, run cob again.....send the guy a grenade (always funny).. debuff... etcetc etc...
I am still unable to kill anyone... but i can be a pain to kill.
use concussion shot with a rocket launcher on a single opponent and enjoy the show. go make a coffe, come back, the guy is still down.
debuff and mez afull group of evil imps with the acide rifle then burn them, itsamazingly cool (then yu die but heh ...)
tka x1xx would be a great add but that would mean surrender my cm skills and....iam just.... not ready for that.

I've been a Smuggler/Commando for quite a while, though when the CU I added some Carbines. Crowd Control is what I do very well at. Last Ditch does not work with AoE...well...AoE doesn't seem to work well in the first place damage-wise. But all the crowd controlspecials work extremely well with AoE attacks (Though don't daze with a flamer, it's massively counterproductive now).
Soloing I do well enough, though not so well as some other combos, but enough to make sure there's plenty of content for me when I'm feeling anti-social,

I have mcommando/msmuggler and pistoleer 0003 and rifleman 4000
I do not know if last ditch works with an AOE weapon, but I did test sniper shot with the flamethrower, and it works.
Unfortunatly it is not safe to use in any real combat. I was lucky enough to have someone let me test it on them. Otherwise the mobs move too much and you have to keep them 20m away, and flammer only has 25m range, so there is little room to work with.
But it is otherwise a good temp and the money making ability of the smuggler with slicing.
Also pull with a c-22 and wait on fd to get a good scare in on your group.
