got 900k heavy weapons xp with my LLC and surrendered skills down to LLC 1. Forgot to unequip it and low and behold a mob targeted me upon talking to trainer. I killed him with it and lost 600k heavy weapons XP i was saving for commando.

for each level of a profession, theres a cap on the ammount of xp you can have. ex. at flame 4, you cap at 900k heavy weapon xp. if you drop all those skills, you still have the 900k xp, even tho the cap is much much lower, and if you do somthing that would get you more of this kind of xp, then your xp is reduced to your current cap.

True, i would have only used another 5k rifle xp before i lost the rest if i retrained, but it still took a good 20 min to re earn it all, i dont see the point of having us drop that much xp right on the spot, sure lose somthing like 30% but i lost over 850k **edit** is the point to that. Waste of time

well, the thing is, your not even supposed to have that much xp after you drop whatever skills. personaly, i dont think you should lose any, but the devs are insane so....

Well you would hafta lose some otherwise youd have people mastering and remastering proffs like crazy and completely screw up what proffs were intended to be which are long grueling processes... but then again any proff can be mastered in a week or so, not including entertainer proffs of course
