Hello -

I recently have mastered marskman and have gotten unarmed 4. Im working on the combat XP to get novice commando, but even hunting on dath doing enraged rancor missions, im only netting about 100-200 combat xp per kill at the most.

Is there a better way to get combat xp? I heard you can get more combat xp when using grenades, and when trying to use those, i only am getting the same amount of xp. Maybe im using them wrong.

Could someone help me out with this, or if there is an online resource for me to read, point me in that direction. I would appreciate it, since the combat xp grind is driving me batty.

I think the removed the grenade trick in the last patch.

Instead of going for big stuff, go for small stuff you can kill easily. My personal favorite is Feral Banthas on Tat. Using a laser rifle and headshot 2 you will be able to 1 shot them pretty often, and you'll always have them dead before the 3 shot limit so if you're prone you don't need to worry about getting swarmed.

They will only net you around 100 combat xp each, (I think 110 if you are groupped with a pet) and can be hard to find at times, but given how easy they are to kill they were my prefered grinding method back in my marksman days.

hmmm....ok.

Im getting some combat xp from grenades. I just dont know how they worked as far as XP is concerned. Do you get combat xp in proportion to the dmg you do with them? If so, ill just throw grenade after grenade.

You still get an combat exp bonus from using grenades. The amount of the bonus is proportional to the amount of damage you do with them.

Ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a rocket launcher in your backpack.

um 100-200 combat XP per kill means 1-2000 weapon xp per kill. how much were you expecting? that is fine, just keep it up

as a 0030 commando i get about 2-2.9k heavy weapon xp per kill = 200-290 combat xp per kill. thats it.

group on dath and kill stuff, there is no secret, you just gotta kill stuff.

did i mention you just have to keep on killing stuff? you will make it soon enough. GL!

Just keep killing...and killing....and killing....and killing......

I guess I was lucky I have 120k combat xp when I decided to go with the commando profession....and after giving up holo grinding (big mistake BTW) I had 80k to get commando back.

And keep killing things. LOL

They are correct.
Kill Kill Kill, and then Kill again.
Kill everything. Even the small junk on your way to big junk.
The 40k will come soon enough. Then the depressing xp starts. All the xp you need to move up the Commando tree.
That'sa lotsa Xp'sa.
Group whenever you can. Even group with pets and droids. The xp will be better.
