Thread: Nice...TH Keeps Deleting My Commando Posts (Way to Communicate Devs!!)

This is the kind of crap that made me quit this game ( ends march i think, only took 3 more months on renewal ) . Take out all the starwars'y stuff from the game and what do you have? An awfull gamewherelittle of the things in it makes sense. Agroup of people who dont take into consideration to anything but thier own biased opinions run the show, logic is not on speaking terms with the people. Basicly the entire community gets 1 vote and the devs get 3 on subjects to which thing will be changed. TKA got the way it is b/c of TH. Commando got the way it is b/c of him as well. At this point, I can care less what happens to this game. Im starting to play more Day of Defeat and C&C Generals. I actualy have fun in those games and they take skill and brain power to win, not mystical damage modifers you get because you learned how to punch things or rediculouse delays because someone yelled at you. Those games aren't dicated by idiots who dont care about thier players. Funny thing is, they dont get money for people playing these games online.... makes you wonder what the motives of the devs are when they do this crap...

Thats not a bad idea to post this on the IT board. Maybe if we all keep posting it?

So do you say just make it AP2? Or make it AP1 and give it 64m?

That was my thought exactly Techno...

I thought is was totally appropriate on the IT board so I posted a long detailed discussion. I also posted several replies to replies to my discussion. Then TH came home and deleted them all. I thought...the board is borked...my threads keep disappearing. So I reposted (shorter version)...deleted again....

Then I posted, "Why are my posts getting deleted?" That post was also deleted.

Then I figured out what was going on (I guess I never should have assumed that devs were reasonable and wouldn't delete posts they didn't like).

Boy they shut me up didn't they... (LOL) Now I'm just plain mad.

What is really sad is that TH does stuff like this all the time, and then acts surprised when devs later implement changes and players go crazy because the implementation is not what they wanted/needed. "Why didn't you guys tell me this earlier," he says... (Hint: Because he keeps ignoring our posts)

I have submittedat least 3posts to the "IT 7-2 Preliminary Combat Balance Changes" forum, which asks for feedback regarding the "Preliminary Combat Balance Changes."

In each post I made the case that although the HAR accuracy mod fixes are nice, they are not the fixes commandos need to provide us with a viable non-heat weapon for the next month. (We need the HAR to be made AP2, to compensate for its sub-par delay and damage, and its lack of a dot.)

All of these posts have been deleted by the devs, even though posts replying to my postshave been left intact and are still in the thread.

Since there is no other thread in which it would be appropriate to discuss the extent of the commando changes in the next patch, I guess that shows us how much the developers want to hear our concerns...

*shrug* Developer resources are tight and they're all working hard to get things done one at a time. And if your posts involved even a little ranting then yeah, they were prolly deleted for that.

Constructive criticism at its worst!

That's the problem...I made sure they were very constructive and logical to ensure that they were taken seriously.

My only explanation is that the devs thought they were off topic for some reason. The problem? If posts about the effectiveness of the upcoming commando changes are off-topic in that forum, where are they on-topic?

Devs are entertaining all types of ideas regarding further additions and changes to the warcry and panic shot rules, as well as additional guns for other classes.... Why is Commando being ignored?

It's happened to the best of us Daker...personally I'm use to it...

And it's only considered ranting and whining when it's not something you care about...ever notice that a person from another profession will call something whining, but if the same post was made in their forum, it's a constructive request...

TH makes it a point to say that he will only respond to "postive posts"...the problem is, and this comes from someone who worked in Customer Service for 3 years, folks usually contact Customer Service when they are upset...9 out of 10 times the issues are complaints...1 out of 10 times someone wants to say something positive...if you can't deal with the negative in a positive fashion you shouldn't be in Customer Service...

Deleting posts would have been like me hanging up on angry customers...I can just see it "I'm sorry you bill seems off, but unless you talk to me in a happy tone I'm hanging up on you...Good bye..." I doubt that would go over very well...A good customer service representative knows how to take an angry customer and improve the mood with just a few kind understanding words...

I even found that I could ease the tension but just acknowledging the caller's problems...give them validity...even if I couldn't fix them, the caller was actually happier that I took the time to show compassion and really listened...They'd of course be happier if I fix the problem, but just acknowledging the problem actually renewed their faith that the the issue might someday be resolved. JustG proved that by acknowledging our issues...our whole mood in our forum changed after that, and he didn't even say anything would get fixed...I've sent many e-mails to TH in the past and told him that if he just "acknowledged" our issues that tension would lower...but instead he turned it into an attack back on us of "stop ranting...your aren't broken"...

TH's answer to negative issues is to either ignore them, delelte them...or worse, intensify them by labeling the poster as ranting or whining...

Overall I think TH does a pretty good job with what he has to deal with...but when it comes to the area of Customer Service he gets a big fat "F"....Ask anyone who has ever worked in Customer Service...they'll tell you the same...no company would let their Customer Service Rep get away with the same...

True Garvin...

What scares me, it that it probably takes more time for the devs to identify "off-topic" or "ranting" posts and delete them than it takes to read what the player is saying and move on to the next post.

So we spend time composing our thoughts and feedback...the devs not only ignore it, but take more time than necessary making sure we KNOW that they are ignoring it by deleting our posts.

Makes sense to me....(or not)

Just an observation I've noticed. TH goes on vaction, JustG comes to the commando board and offers an olive branch. He treats the community with respect and the community responded to that. The commando community was becoming more constructive and it was better on both ends. Now TH comes back, and starts deleting constructive reasonable posts. This guy really hates commandos, and I hate to say it, as long as TH is in the position of power he is in, the commando will always be the absolute worst combat class in the game. Honestly, I don't see commando becoming worth a hoot until that far off day of TH leaving comes around, and acommunity rep who is willing to listen to legitimate concerns takes his place. Until that day, I suggest that the community drop enough commando to pick up a class that he favors, such as tka. I've started enjoying the game again after I mastered tka. Sure, even tka has some parts about it that are broken, but it also has more parts working than most, a testament to TH's crusade to get TKA working months ago.
