The C12 is the "Light Fragmentation Grenade" cert you get just for existing.

The C22 is the "Fragmentation Greande" cert you get at Novice Commando.

Are grenades in general worthwhile when you climb the commando skill tree? I've fooled around with C12's and looted grenades a bit as a non-commando... they were pretty harmless to my targets.

I'm hoping to hear that they are a valuable asset to commandos... I'm going to become a commando soon.

The general concensus is that grenades are not very useful. Once you can chuck the powerful ones that you would want to actually chuck at an enemy (only when outside mind you), the blast radius is greater than the distance you can chuck. So if you don't mind hitting yourself and your enemy, they are pretty good.

The one good thing you can do with grenades, save them and throw them at lairs when you need the extra combat xp. Killing something with grenades gives combat xp only (in case you did not know that).
