Thread: Nerf the flamethower hacking commandos!
I saw a Rill devour a Gorg solo the other day as a pre-emp to a feeding frenzy. The poor Gorg had no chance. The Rills are just getting sick now...
here's the solution to no death penalty, clone with no wounds but like 100 battle fatigue and no ham. so you have to wait for ham to regen before reentering a fight and probley find an entertainer to be effective
hazza
fyi not a hack exploit or other just a good idea, you do die and loose fp atm, but i agreed need more of a penalty for death. Also any combat prof can do this with bleeds, its easy to get 1k of bleeds going and faster then the 20 sec cool down for our guns
Commando's arent over powered. Until you try being one you need to shut your noise hole my dumb little friend.
we have like a 15 second wait after doing specials, we have to be within 16m to do a special, the accuracy on our weapons is HORRIBLE, and we have the second highest amount of prereq's in the game.
So why on earth shouldnt our weapons and specials be much much better then some crappy pistoleer or rifleman(which they arent)???
ROFL that was me. I soloed two at/st outside the Dantooine Imp base yesterday. The first one I used flame1 and feign death. The second one killed me after the flame dot was on it, but I was cloned in the base so no biggie. It takes two attacks of the flame1 special to kill an NPC AT/ST...I don't have flamesingle2 yet so I can only imagine the damage/dot on that is worse.
Obviously this is up for debate, but I think I should be able to inflict lots of pain on an AT/ST. Yes, it did kill me a few times (I missed a heck of alot)...but I was only able to kill it because I was cloned so close to it, and got back to it within seconds (without TEF due to death) to finish it off. I would imagine that if I pumped some flames into an AT/ST cockpit that the driver would be cooked, this disabling the machine and causing it to crash. The dot makes sense to me...the longer it's on fire, the more it melts the machine and cooks the driver.
Fire damage does need a way to be stopped though, like running into a nearby river or spraying something. Flame me if ya want, I carry a flamethrower around all day anyway, I'm used to it. I'm sure it will probably get nerfed...won't be the end of the world, even though it's ok like it is IMO.

The fire dot is stopped by swimming in water......
I think a "nice" solution to flame dots would be to give master artisians the ability to make consumable fire extinguishers. Say a 20 charge extinguisher that heals 1000 dot dmg. That would bring a little more balance into things and give people more intensive to get master artisian.
