Thread: Finally...Master Commando

Whew! Finally made it last night with a nice hunting trip to Dantooine.....

I say finally because I didn't do Master Commando 'cause some stupid cube told me to. And I didn't grind it away in a couple days just in case a little cube or mysterious voice told me to.

I did Master Commando 'cause heck, I wanted to be a Master Commando.

Started out right before the holo method began, leading many to think that this was a holo-chase, but it was actually a profession-chase. My thanks to all the Valcyn Commandos who helped me along the way, especially Garvin from the FUN guild!

My character is now complete.

Good to hear. People like you make the best Commandos.

Also, I like your Smuggler/Commando combo.

welcome to the ranks. You have chosen a fairly good profession. Unfortunately if you duel someone with the flame tree he has pretty much the same chance to kill you as you to kill him, but still master commando has some benefits no doubt. Once we are revamped we will be the massive dmg dealers we were meant to be.

I'm there with ya, the path to Master was chosen before Holocrons did anything, and shall not be changed now that they exist.

Commando forever!

I think this revamp has already happened. I can take out any flame dabbler before he takes me out.

I dunno, I'm a 2/2/4/0 right now (going to Master, and no holo told me), and I've seen Master Commandos miss 3 times in a row with flamesingle2. In those 3 shots, I could kill him just with the burn from my first. (I dunno if its just me, but I don't have an accuracy problem).

Too bad we're on different servers so we can't test out your concept.

Master Commandos do miss on occaision, but they have a lot more defense modifiers. Also, the guy you were fighting might have previously been a Master Commando and has yet to change his title.

The only flame dabbler that took me out was buff'd. Even then, we incap'd each other at the same time. Someone walked up and healed him so he could get the final deathblow.

I PvP'd a guy who had Flame4 for about 30 minutes last week. 9 times out of 10, I was the victor (although we were both covered with major wounds in the end).

A Master Commando can stack Flamesingle2 and Flamecone2. They can also shoot those two specials quicker. I also notice that Flamecone2 tends to hit where Flamesingle2 misses. Maybe it has to do with the concept of shooting at an area instead one spot. I haven't fully tested out this theory though.

I think my 3.0 speed flamethrower helps as well.

/salute Welcome to the Brotherhood! Burn Baby, Burn!

With a full set of buffs and really good armor (by this I mean 80% comp or better) you can tank nearly anything. And I mean TANK. I stand in the middle of a pack of Frenzied Grauls, pop a flamecone 2, then hit peace while the rest of my group squeezes as much xp outta the roasting giant monkeys before they keel over. If it's just me, then I Churn 'n Burn.

CHs will love you. So far, my record, starting with a new player with ZERO skills is taking him toCH 4-2-2-4 in a solid ten hours. Mind you, that was before the CH revamp. Since then, best I have managed is 2-2-2-2, but still, not bad for a first day in the game.

Again, welcome. I see much burnage in your future.

Nice work Akoarum!
I've just started on the Commando tree, and I'm not stopping until I master it. My Christmas holo can bloody well wait until I'm ready to follow its advice!

Then the fun is just beginning for you Droidmakerman!

I started playing the game a week after release (had it on release but had to order a new video card). Did the Master Doctor thing, but that ended up being too much like a second job.

Now I'm having a blast!

Good luck on your journey to Master, if that's where you're headed....

Congrats! I just got started in the commando tree because I have always wanted to blow the biggest sh*t up. Well then came Christmas that little blue box says Swordsman. Well unlike all my friends who dropped everything they have worked on I decided to finish commando then when i get bored with it drop everything but the flame tree and begin my holos. For all those people who are holo chasers wouldn't it suck to find out commando was your silent profession or a holo. Just do what you love and when you get bored of that do your holos. Congrats!
