I am near to mastering commando (yey), but I do not know what else I will spend myremaining points onand would really appreciate some advice. Maybe master scout, or a bit of ranger, pistoleer or TKA, I just dont know. I would like to hopefully become a commando/somethinghandy but tk doesnt really appeal to me and i have a weapon skill so dont see the point in getting other lines..

Well any help is much appreciated.

Thx.

I found TKA with master commando is actually pretty fun. You have enough points to master commando and TKA and still hold on to novice medic. Fairly self sufficient and you can flame cone large mobs (if you can get it to hit all or most in the mob) and then UnarmedSpinAttack2 while the mob circles you.

Good set of buffs, some muon and a power boost, your a 10 minute killing machine!

Not that I'm anywhere near close - I'm still workng on master marksman, but I've been thinkinking (dreaming?) about it too. It seems that both pistoleer and TKM get the same number of defensive bonuses - so I guess it comes down to what would you rather do? Of course I also like the idea of hiding in the bushes 64 meters away and using mind shot and then switching to a flame thrower up close.... Oh the choices....

I will probably end up trying a few combos with master commando. lol

I'm still deciding too, there are alot of proffesions I like in this game, and not enough skill points. I'm truthfully thinking about getting a new account so I can have two characters and do all the things I've been wanting too.

Does anyone know how that would work, I'd buy another game, open new account, then:

When I wanted to switch characters, would Ihave to quit game completely and start new different game?

Most of the folks I know who run two accounts have two computers running into a router (I assume) so that they can run both characters at once. Typically you see combatant and medic as the two characters. Or maybe crafter/entertainer and combatant as the two choices.

If you are interested in having two characters, and don't mind running them at different times, why not try two different servers? It might be interesting to make a new set of friends on another server, perhaps even join the other faction that you don't have on your main character?

smuggler, do the rogue tree... delay and kd rock... once you delay them kd them and their stuck on ground for 10 sec. plenty of time to flame 2 them

You need to think in terms of damage mitigation. That is what the game is all about when it comes to combat. With Master Commando you get ranged mitigation 3. This means that you are getting the highest level of damage mitigation when attacked by a ranged weapon. So what you need is a complementary skill set that gives you melee mitigation. This implies a "Brawler" class skill set. I recommend a Master commando/Master MTKA combo. This is what I was for some time.

MTKA gives you the ability to trully prepare for combat with melee mitigation 3, meditation, powerboost, CoB, and if necessary FoW. Along with Fishak and a good buff you are a killing machine for about 10 to 13 minutes.

But if PvP is your game you shouldn't be a commando at all IMHO.Commandos rule PvE but are no match for other combat classes. Everyone knows that all you have to do is avoid the flame and either spam kd, dizzy, or eyeshot and it is over for the commando 9 times outta 10.

Well I would have to say go scout. Mainly because of the increased hill speed and the mask scent ablities, they really help if you are tring to cross Dant, or Dath and do not have a speeder handy. Also make it easier to sneak up on argo creatures. That is my thought

What secondary professions you pick is dependent upon what you plan on fighting. I gave up PvP with my Master Commando long ago. Like many previous posts, unless you dabble in TKA or Smuggler (I really didnt like using the LP with pistoleer skills) forget it. Although, Master Comm's are essential in big raids, for nobody can dole out the damage over time as we can. I personally enjoy PvE now much more and explore a lot. Mixed with Scout 4/0/0/0 and Medic 4/3/4/0,I can go everywhere in the galaxy and fight very confidently. Rancor, spider, and droid caves are easily handled solo with advancedcomposite armor and a good FT,no buffs required. So, I figure you will do what all of us who spend a lot of time in the elite professions do, figure out what your character does well, and do that. If you dont like what it does well, change professions (we all have changes professions alot).

I would say one of 2 things. TKA that way you have ranged and melee mitigation, or if you short on points, Rogue(In the Smuggler tree). Last Ditch and the LP is pretty incredible.

Just my .02 cents

at first i was thinking master commando/pistoleer, but then after mastering commando pistol xp seemed so hard to get! So then i decided maybe smuggler? Then i thought duh! it has pistol xp too!!! I got to be a 1-4-3-4 smuggler and it finally got interesting. Then i looked at the TKA template and noticed all it added to. I got novice TKA and gave up smuggler. I'm a master commando and TKA 1-2-2-4 now. I love TKA! The grind to novice TKA was kind of a pain, but with tons of buffs and ronto's i got it. While i was getting novice i got really bored, so i maxed out my flame xp. Then i started back on TKA and once i got it i already had enough for 2 skills. Once i got the first two combat xp skills i blew right through TKA. I got what i have now in one day. I'd do TKA until i got bored, then i would get combat xp. Its actually very fun, and with all the PVP skills of TKA and the PVE skills of commando, this game is getting really easy... I would suggest commando/TKA or Pistoleer. Smuggler has some great shots, but it is hard to get up to them until you get dirty fighting 4, which then you really dont need much more. All the TKA bonus's I've found are mentioned above, but somethings good abotu Pistoleer that I've seen is you get good shots early, and you can use DX2's. Good luck
