Thread: skills 250 man this sucks
hello
im a cammando myself but.. i feel if you master something i fell you ethir...
1. get more xp to go for something else like so kind of crafter and be able to master that ...
2. or give use more skill at the begining..... 250 suck
i want to be a cammando and a crafter or a entertainer but i know i can but I CANNOT MASTER ANYTHING ELSE AND IT SUCKS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>REALLY SUCKSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
you need to put some stuff to go with cammando you should be able to master some kind of crafting or music dancer or something...
of course dont let any one go for to weapons skill then they would be even more powerful......
oh and quite nerf ing crap
your making the game suck
I give this a big, resounding NO! Why do we have 250 skill points? For the same reason we cannot (outside of a force sensitive character) create 2 characters on a single server under a single account: to create the need for community interdependance. Ifwe had enough skill points to become a master commando and master an elite crafting class essentially the only commandos you'd see running around would also be master weaponsmiths. Why on earth would I pay someone 50k to craft a rocket launcher for me if I possessed the ability to create them on my own? In this type of situation the economy suffers and the game suffers.
I think 250 works nicely. Sure I can't do everything in the game I wish I could, but it forces you to be creative and prioritize within your template. I like combat-based characters, so I'm a commando and I'm heading for master TK. I don't personally use a ton of expendible weaps, but if I did I would work within the confines of the skill point system by developing a working relationship with a good weaponsmith. If you buy tons of weaps, odds are any sensible weaponsmith will be willing to work with you and cut you a deal for buying in bulk. Alternatively, buy a few harvesters and ask what types of resources are required to craft certain items, I've saved hundreds of thousands of credits by plopping down my heavy harvesters ona mineraldeposit, waiting a few days and bartering with a crafter rather than buying outright.
My opinion is the skill point system is one of the few very well thought out systems in the game. Changing it would be a mistake and would destroy the interdependance of the game. In all honesty, I would have liked them to take the system a step farther and make it so that you lost the ability to craft low level items/perform low level skills as you attained a higher level in your chosen profession, but that's a totally different discussion.
well i can see your new to SWG (the number 1 besid your post kinda says so
)
and 250 skill points dos suck but you need to undersatnd a few things
1 this is aplayer run economy (thous if you could be every thing there be no economy)
2 this is not a uber game ( you cant gain life you cant always win )
3 in this game you can be killed by some of the most stupied stuff (you will always die you are not invinsabel )
see this ant no everquest loots not usly uber and thous all your weps come from players usly not loot
you always will have to have some one els to ither make you a wep heal you or cure your bf you cant be toltly a loner in the game and the devs wanted it this way
If you really want to entertain, you can do another character on another server. Or, if you got the cash, get a second account.
I got a second account to have a weaponsmith, and trust me, my commando saves little to no money this way. Harvesters, and time finding the specific materials that are any good for the weapon have been sucking my commando dry. I mainly did it not to be cheap, but since few were making grenades and HWs and even fewer were spending the time to make good ones. I can see why now, for the price we would be willing to pay, it doesnt seem worth the time to find the materials, not that they require a lot, but they require diferent ones. For example, I cant just get a whole bunch of reactive gas and metal and make a grenade, I need those, steel, inert petrochem, and gemstone. Then you got to find the right atributes of the material to make it worh while.
If you are fortunate enough to have a weaponsmith that makes grenades and HWs, and good ones (for example, even C 12s can be made up to almost 1k max damage) for a reasonable price to what you see them worth (they wouldnt be able to charge what its worth to them and have em sell)give them a big sloppy wet kiss, and befor selling a crafters loot item, bring it to them as a gift to show some apreciation. Its a lot of hard work and I now know why I quit doing it and went all combat with my original character.

Don't spread bad info... The highest I've seen a C12 is about 860 with 2.9 or 2.8 speed. If you get your stats that high, take 'em. You're not finding any better than that.
Master Commando to the rescue:
Uhh...you can master Commando and another profession, even a starting profession. I'm a Master Commando (167 skill points), and nearing master Scout. (like 1 skill box off), and I have novice medic (stim B's).
Besides, if you Master Commando, and play your trumps the right way, you don't need to master another =p.

It's not misinformation. C12's can do 1000 damage (I have some). You just don't see them often because most weaponsmiths won't waste good resources on grenades, since grenades are basically novelty items.
860 is more typical, but 1000 is definitely possible.

Just use Proton Grenades, they're so much better...
Ah yes, but the best use for genades IMO is for combat XP. Protons a bit expensive for that dont ya think?
And as far as the 1000 max damge C 12s? Oh yes it can be done, but it is a hard venture for a weaponsmith to go find the right materails to do it, thats why you dont seee them often.
Dont worry, once I get master weaponsmith I woll post a fulll report on how good of commando weapons you should look for, and what you should expect to pay. So far I'd say most weaponsmiths are very generous for their price to effort ratio, but we will see if it is really an effort or just low quality.

Sorry, you're wrong. The only way you're seeing anywhere near 1000 is if a power-up is put on it.
And to me, they weren't novelty items. That's what my whole WS'ing career was based off of until CSR's made me not want to play anymore.
If you say it's possible, I'd like you to find one post anywhere on any of the forums where people advertise this stat. I'll personally go check out their shop to see if it's got a power-up on it.
