Commando Archive

Let me start by saying that I am not a commando and have no intention of ever becoming one. Nothing wrong with commando it's just not what I have in mind for my character. I've posted this before on the GCW board, but I wanted to present it to a Commando audience as well.

How about making the Storm Commando armor available onlyto Master Commandoes as a faction perk? The Storm Commando armor is pretty slick and since this game lacks that apparently elusive "Star Warsyness" that people expected I think this would be a good way to go about attaining that. It would cost only slightly more than normal Stormtrooper armor and might include some kind of bleed defense integrated into it to justify the higher cost.

So would you Imperial MasterCommandoes like to run around in sleek, black Storm Commando armor? I would think it would be a nice plus to the profession and really help add to the feel and immersion of this game. So if you like this idea or hate this idea I'd like to hear what you think about it.

I would rather see that no faction armors get a "profession req" slapped on them.

Even the sleek black Scout trooper armor...

If they did that, the BH's would yell for mandalorian armor to become BH only.....and originally, the mandalorian armor was a "commando" armor.....*grin*

Well the thing is that this is more of a status symbol. Why would some Pistoleer or Creature Handler wearStorm Commando armor? It should be something only for the people who wanted to become a Master Commando. Everyone else can always wear the standard Stormtrooper armor if they want to. I just think that Master Commandoes deserve some kind of special priveledge for being a Master Commando.

It'd be cool-looking, but I would never wear it given how lacking the armor is in resists for the cost.

ST armor and the ST resists are diffrent, my guess is this commando armor would be too.

But I don't think this would be a hot (or fair) idea, unless you give rebels their equivelent armors, and then give every single combat proffession THEIR equivelent armors. As for a status thing, its hard enough remembering to take off the master commando tag before PVPing You would REALLY get womped on (which might be a good thing if your friend is a bh/pistoleer and 30x better then you in pvp).

Actually I think all armors should be available to all classes (anyone can wear ST armor, Storm Commando armor, or scout armor or swamp trooper armor.

Speaking of mandalorian armor, where do you get that anyway?

you don't, it's not available in the game yet, although occasionally a BH trainer can be seen wearing it, the one in our city was the other day.

The armoursmiths have been talking about profession specific armours for the elite professions for a while now, stuff that matches the values of the profession. Personally i think it'd be a great idea, looks kinda of generic with everyone running round with adv composite or Ubese.

I like the idea, but isnt there a camo stormy armor? Not in game, but somewhere else in the stories or something I saw. Or maybe it was blue shoulder pads on over normal armor. Hell, I cant remember.

Memory fades but I thought the black was worn by pilots.

Anyway, it would be fair in the way that how the current losing faction is supposed to get better faction perks or something like that. We are outnumbered around 4-1 last I looked. As for it being for commandos? I think us Imps need something since several commandos go rebel just to blow up AT-STs and soon AT-ATs.

so imperials get another faction perk? Yeah, they should implement this along with the AT AT's coming up. that would be GRREAT

i would love to see something for making master...but all i see are nerf this nerf that. nice idea, id just like to make my own grenades for now, hehe.
