I mean c'mon guys, whats important is we stay reasonable and look at ways to make this work.

I mean, I myself, and Tac spent a long thread discussing how the DoT makes for whining but focusing on dablers making it too common.

And Garvin, you even came up with an idea on how to put out flame DoT in order to be fair to our opponents. The only diference betwween your idea and the one they have presented is implementation. We should focus on being positive and reasonable in order to be respected so maybe they hear out what we have to say on how this is implemented.

Also, How many of us here have said they need to make resists count against DoT? And yes, we do need our other weapons fixed in order for this to work for us.

DoTs not stacking? Oh well. PvP you dont get much of a chance to anyway and PvE you may as well forget surviving long enough to do it anymore when I talk about the next thing which should be the real concern to us.

To me, the biggest concern is that defenses wont stack. The reason I say this is because we get a measly 25 to melee and ranged and the 5 status effect to whatever isnt even worth mentioning. To us, stacking is not a power monger exploit, its to cover a gaping weakness. The truth is, while 25 was nice to sttack on, its not even worth having alone. Fire extinguishers? Let em use it. If they want to stand there and use it while I line up another flamesingle, they are just delaying the inevitable.

The real issue is, without defense stacking, and I'm assuming that means alll defenses being dodge/counte/etc, melee/ranged, and status effect defenses, that means that people are either going to kite us and hit almost every shot, or KD us and use the fire extinguisher while we are on the ground.

So maybe we should focus on getting a boost to our own ranged/melee defense or, as Im sure every profession would like, just make a limit to where you still can invest in more defenses but not enough to make you have this extreme ammount that caused the problem. Along with that, we need KD and dizzy defense along with our own dodge or block or counter. I think we are the only combat professsion without that.

I know it would be nice if TH would post what exactly they are fixing with HWs, cause I dont want to be just a flame jocky or just a consumable HW jockey either, I would like some versatility since its obvious to me that they arent going to make us super powerful due to skill dump. If we are to be equal, lets look for versatility to match our having the most combat pre-reqs.

TH did post there, and maybe he would have gone into detail for us on whats exactly geting fixed, but we jumped down his throat as soon as we saw him post.

FYI, if you go through and read most of the negative posts here you will see it's not the nerfing people are upset with. It's the nerfing without the fixings....

Fix us and our other tree's, AND nerf the flame if you must. But don't nerf the flame and still not fix the trees.

BTW if the other trees will be fixed in the combat patch - fine....Then nerf the flame with the combat patch.

Don't give us this in the meantime it will be tough garbage....

What this means to me is that in the meantime, we won't have commando's to take down AT-ST's. Imperials will be able to establish DHQ's everywhere with AT-ST's guarding them and no one around to take them down. Rebels will still be slaughtered in PVP when AT-ST's are brough out, and continue to lose faction while Imperials rack up them points....

What's the point in being a commando if it's going to be so out of whack?

OK, maybe you didnt see my icon to know I dont mind AT-STs going unharmed. lol jk

Anyway, TH DID say a little something about heavy weapons getting some fixes, he just didnt go into details. Why? Maybe cause we jumped right down his throat.

And I failed to mention that I got a PM from him after asking about our other weapons getting fixed, he said that that it will be in the combat balancing. Im guessing thats the big one in publish 7 so lets just hope.

You see, Im not saying just take it laying down, but if we want them to reason with us we got to not kick and flail at em whenever they try to communicate.

I think another thing that upsets people is the nerfing without any discussion with us, the class that it effects most.
Its like, somthing gets changes, then we discover it and complain, then a dev says "oh yeah, we changed that for such and such a reason and its not going to change. Enjoy."

Thats not how its supposed to be.

My issues have never been about what they plan to do...in fact if you read my posts I don't slam on them negatively or their ideas...

The things I take issue with is that all these decissions are being made without any input or warning to us...the Profession they effect most...

About 2 months I have been requesting TH to come talk to us...to share what the future has in store for us...A month ago we heard from TH that he was happy with the Commando Profession and wanted to help us.

Recent posts in other forums have told us of the negatives to come...but still, in the beginning I kept asking nicely for someone to come and tell us what we should expect...and with each day another negative nerf to come post in ANOTHER forum...and still no visit here to explain...

That is what brought me to the point of pushing LordS to DEMAND someone come talk to us...to give us some reassurance...you can imagine how a few words that they will take care of us would go far...if TH just came here and said that he felt our pain, that he understood we are broken and that he is pushing the Dev's to look into fixing our problems...that would quell any bad feelings I have...but all we get is TH coming here and telling us even more why we need to be NERF'd...and his reason aren't very valid as the testing evironment wasn't very well thought out...

Is it so much to ask for someone to come and discuss our issues with us...Is it a lot to ask for them to confirm that they've heard us...We can come up with suggestions and ideas till the cows come home, but if nobody is listening what's the point...that's why them coming here would help...

We have a right to be upset and a right to express those hurt feelings...We are an ignored profession...We have one working weapon...Any negative change they make to that weapon is a NERF for our whole profession UNLESS they are giving us something back in return...

We know best what's wrong and right with our profession, yet they make decissions based without ever consulting with us, and worst off, the announceme them in places other then this forum...how fair is that?

I will continue to be upset and soured until TH or another Dev confirms that they understand...that they've heard us and that they are willing to listen...until then...why should we continue just to sit back and wait...what has that achieved us so far...We take pride in our profession...if we didn't react when they cut us, what would that say about that pride?

And that thingy you forgot to mention - that's where I was trying to get at. If they need to change the flame - change it when the big combat publish comes out. If they did it then, they wouldn't get this kick and flail from fellow commando's. I, for one, would be like "ok....well let's see how it works out in the new scheme of things". Instead, I'm like "in this scheme of things, it's going to hurt"....

Then I was like "whoa"....and then "whoa".....

OK guys, i just got a response to my last PM to TH. I had told him how a lot of can be very reasonable and more of us would be reasonable if he could come give us some details on the fire extinguisher and what HW's exactley are going to be changed. He said he'll do that, but none of these changes are going to be around till publish 7, and hes working on publish 6 right now. He said he wont leave us in the cold.

Now if he does do this,I suggest trying to control your emotions. I know its easy to get upset, I was to, but if we jump on him right away its over. You can defend the profession diplomatically, and in this case thats all we got. There isnt much we can do by actions asside from drop our accounts and if you drop your accounts you wont be around to see the changes take place anyway.

So just gather your heads, and dont try to talk them out of doing something completely, I dont think I ever seen em change their mind, just try to think fo ways on how we can make it work.

For xample" Fire extiguishers: Put out falme DoT. Ok, can we get upped to 32m at least now that they can put out our DoTs?

Resists against DoT: We really need our other weapons fixed for diferent damage types at least. Not to mention that some races, especially wookies,still are unable to wear some armor and this increases their disadvantages.

Defenses not stacking: It is understood that several people are stacking defenses too high to wear no one can hit them hardly at all, we understand this, but several of us are not using it in the wrong way. Instead we are using it to cover up a big weakness for us which is almost no status effect defense, and little ranged melee defense to where alone it is useless. Could we get more for our profession? Or maybe put a limit on how high you can stack so people can still invest some skill points."

Maybe its because we were placed on the back burner, and thats our only response on these forums we've even gotten for around 2 months..maybe that has something to do with it?

You may be upset, he may be upset, you all may be upset, but there are people out there who still have their insanity...making this apologetic post, to me, is needless

Anyways, the devs..heck even our correspondant, still has alot to answer for..for months this community was making constructive posts, good ideas..not alot of infighting that plagued other proffession forums..but what did that gain us? Almost nothing, its human nature for some people to act up over being ignored.

I still think constructive posts should continue..but TH did say he will only post in "positive topics"...well only until the last month or 2 have the posts become increasingly negative..why? because of no response

When lots of commandos were throwing around good ideas and trying to get the devs attention...did those positive posts garner any dev reply? Then when we finally have their attention, they hit us with another excuse..another excuse that shows we truly are on the backburner at the moment (look at what you even said in the past posting...that TH has said it wont be until another 1 or 2 publishes before our changes come out..or will be discussed)

I see it that this isn't being ignored, they just have higher pirorities..but they ought to have more communication...*cough* fire extingisher *cough* with us on issues that will effective us only, or will effect us the most...at the very moment, we just need that small connection..and have been so waiting for a very long time.

Ok backburner, yes maybe we are a bit, as we havve been in the past but we all know that publish 6 is not an excuse he conjured up out of nowhere and I am sure he will be quite busy until it goes live, along with him being very actively seen on severral professions threads that have been ignored like ours, leads me to believe they are trying to make an effort to communicate, but we gotta be patient.

I know we have been patient so long, and maybe we wont get the attention we are looking for but our only chance is to leave some faith in them at least a littl bit, cause as I said befor, we dont have any way of taking action other than cancelling accounts, but they have been posting.

Think of it like this, have you ever seen "Bruce Almighty"? Well its similar to that for TH I'm sure, not to give him a power trip saying hes got gods powers, but just the voices evrywhere, so many you cant organize them easily into one thought, its gotta be dificult. Seeing that runesabre has jumped in and helped some on DEV tracker, and even Q3PO has popped in a joke here and there tells me they are trying to help hear from us all. I know I cant keep up with all the posts in the commando forum. I know its not my job either, but imagine all the profession forums and GCW forum and server forums. They are lakcing the work force to hear everything.

I'm not going to sit here and defend them cause I cant garauntee that we will hear a thing. Im just saying be patient. As soon as we go into authoritive writing, we will throw em off and really will not be heard.

LOL I wish. At least for one of my 2 accounts.

The thing is, I was upset to, its understandable when we dont have answers to several questions when they announce something like this, but the important thing is we stay calm in order to rationalize our thoughts to make sense, we wont get anywhere without having rational ideas.

Heh, i was so upset at first that my cursor was floating over the account cancellation, but I realised that doing that wouldnt help me enjoy the game more that I do love. So I almost dropped my commando instead, but decided i'm made of more than that to turn tail and give up that easily.

/sigh I did however drop everything I had except for master commando as support skills, but now I realize those skills, that are still in my sig, could have aided in my future grinding once I know where the professions are going to be.

Just a word of Warning Techno...

I received the same response to my PM...over a month ago...was told we'd see something for Patch 6...I was also told that when the SWG Discussion forum we would see A LOT more Dev attentionand responses in our profession forum...hmmmm...

Now you see some of the reasons I've been a bit more demanding lately...After patch 7 you might share my feelings...hopefully I'll be wrong and we will see love, who I have heard that same thing before...

Since the announcement of the Fire Extingishers I've sent several pleasant PM's to TH...he responded pleasently to a couple...

The last one I sent, just before TH came here and replied in that template post, begged TH to come here and offer us a few kind words of reassurance...

This is what I wrote to him:

I sent out an invite to you awhile back but I understand you're very busy...but this is getting worse and worse by the day...

Recent announcements by you and others are starting to create panic on the Commando forum...lots of Commandos are already jumping off the sinking ship and changing professions...Many see the recent announcements as the Death of our profession.

So many announcements have been made lately that impact the Commando forum so severly and no one has come to discuss the issues with us...it's creating a large volume of resentment that could easily start lower with just some sense that someone is listening and that there is some light at the end of the tunnel...

I'm afraid if you wait much longer to visit our forum, soon there won't be to many of us Masters still there...Everyone will be at most just a Flame Tree Dabbler...maybe not even that...We need your support...we need answers...

Plese visit as soon as you can...we need answers...we need hope...
