So they're beefin up the crackdown with these fancy Nova troopers... HAM into the hundred thousand regions and stuff like that.
Having seen their reported it stats, it looks like among the three new stormtrooper types, they have maximum heat resists of 30%, whereas most of their other resists are higher, with just a couple lower. Since these patrols will now be the targets of rebel squads instead of soloists, looks like we'll be useful

Heat resist is low.
Armor is Heavy though.
The one I saw had 230k HAM

I don't know about everyone else....
But I'm tired of using the flamethrower.
5 months of the same weapon wears on ya.

I disagree, this in no real way benefits commandos.
A rifleman with a T21 ap3, will still be able to take down these elite troopers faster than we can, plus, now that they are not just confined in a small area (corvette), we will have to get up close to even make a dent.
It mightalso be worth mentioning that when you get some range between you and them, they start using all sorts of rifle/carbine specials on you before you can get within 18m to set them on fire.......and suppose these nova troopers decide to go TK on us (if they do that), when we do get close....
Oh, and now if we do decide to fight these guys, overt imps now have the toughest ST to fight alongside with them in these cities....hell, if i was an imp, I could just wait for the novatrooper to keep those rebs with a tef busy while I work on picking of their team one by one. what are they going to do, break fighting the nova trooper, to deal with an overt? Pick your poison.ST bad boys can hit you for over 4k damage before resists, and have heavy armor....or....that overt imp who may come up and TKM you and DB you in less than 5 seconds, poison, etc......
If you got scanned and all the St's aggro on you, plus a nova trooper or 2, do you think you will make it out alive? sure, I like to think that i can solo a novatrooper, and i probibly can, but what are the chances that you will be fighting just ONE? Those "regular" ST's are not real hard, but left unattended, will take ya down eventually, if you have to concentrate on that one nova trooper.
Don't get me wrong, I like the crackdown, rebels like me should have a harder time moving around, and I welcome these new ST's to help.
but....
I dont really see anyBENEFIT to commandos having these nova troopers around, but (as usual) the riflemen get to cash in on this (concealshot), whereas they could not as well up in the corvette.

I like the way you think, way to take something that people are complaining about and trying to figure out a way to work with it. It's too bad you're in the rebellion, the empire could always use more people like you.

if they're making elite stormies in hundreds of thousands of ham..by god the combat rebalance better be boosting the players...
...yeah we may be able to take them down easily in a group...but if these babies it for 4k a shot..man...thats like fighting a krayt in the heart of coronet....we may do a ton of damage..but our ham and even armour is extremely low....and suppousedly they're nerfing buffs down as well...
rebalance better be good...for us all now

Just as an FYI, the novatroopers are only temporary, they're already gone on TC.

could some one clear up what a nova trooper is? I have no idea what they are.

yeah, the Nova troopers are temp (found out after i post this btw) and they were taken out today
I also heard from A'nita (big TKM/swordsman/meleer in general who has done the corvette near countless times) that the super battle droids are out as well...
