Garvin... I've seen a similar thread in the BH forums and agreed with it, so if the rest of the commando community feels the same, could you try and get some ifo from the devs on what level of Commando get to use the Madalorian armour? Personally I believe it has to be either Master (preffered) or level IV in one of the 'non-dabbler' trees (um, and except flame tree then).

Does the community agree, and Garvin, any chance of some info on this?

If it were to require level 4 ina certain tree, to prevent dabblers from just taking the skill branch most beneficial to them, maybe it should be the investigative column for bounty hunters, field tactics or the disposable heavy weapons branch for commando, the camp column for ranger, though I am not too sure on what it should be for the squad leader.... volley fire command tree maybe?

I personaly don't mind if it's novice or master, but our BH breathren seem to want it at master so i say lets stand beside them on this. Maybe there can be a comprimise say Inv 4 for BH Feild tac 4 for Comm etc....

I need to know how other's feel, including the dabblers...do folks want this a Novice cert, an "in a tree" cert...or a Master cert...OR...would people like to see the various components of the armor (helmet, chest, gloves, etc) staggered through the profession levels?

Personally? I'd rather keep the cert for the whole suit at novice. Mandalorian Armor should be nothing more than a side-quest in terms of our actual profession. I'd much rather see the master box made viable through the enhancement of our skills that don't rely on incredibly rare pieces of armor (which may or may not be good, we don't know yet.)

AKA. I really don't want to see the master box balanced around an armor, that would bring nothing but pain upon those who would havea hard time getting Mandalorian armor, which by the sound of things, would be quite a few.

Remember, the character should define the character, not the armor they wear.I can't emphasize enough that making mandalorian armor a reward for mastery is a bad idea, it should be a perk on the side for being a commando, not the entire point.

keep it at novice. It is already going to be useless to most players, there is no need to limit it even further.

I believe the Mandorian armor is going to be tough enough to get, so I have no problem with it being at the novice level. Personally I believe our weapons and specials being revamped is much more important.

I'll check, but my guess is that the current plan is for the Novice levels of the various professions (kind of like they did with the Detonation Droid Cert for Smugglers and BH's)...

You have to remember, the game was designed with a focus on dabbling...many don't see it as a bad thing, especially the devs, so to sell it at a higher level it has to be a "reward" for those who master a profession...and to convince them it's a needed reward, something lacking has to be shown...We have plenty lacking at the Master Level so this might be something I can use, but could lead to them feeling our other requested changes are no longer needed for the Master Level...get one, lose the other kind of thing...

I have two thoughts on the matter. The first isthat it should be certed at field tactics 4. This is our tree that focuses on defense and tactics, so it seems appropriate that it would be there. The second is if we want to discourage min/maxing, I think that the total number of skill pts needed to use this armorshould be roughly equal for the 4 classes, sowe should use novice BH as the benchmark (160 skill pts). The closest for us would be to put partial certs in 3 different level 4 boxes(maybe one HAR/FT/HW; 154 skill pts). For Rangers, it should be at master (140 skill pts), and the same with squad leader (135 skill pts).

Although not a Master (yet), My 2 cents is that it should be a master certification. No real reason, just my thoughts.
