uh...yeah...so many ways to answer that question....

first and formost, unless the Devs *do* otherwise, unless you are planning to go master, Command wont be worth your time. The melee damage only gets reduced at master, anything short and 3 or more crazed durni have a good chance of one-hit incapping you.

That said, no you dont get any specials with novice. All you get are alot of cerifications to play with all of our fun toys.

Some will say that its a good idea to dabble pistoleer and use a well-made LP to grind the first few level 1 boxes. If you have the points and time, I would suggest this.

Get yourself a full set (all the weapons you are cert'ed to use) of high quality weapons. Your primary skill to master first will be Grenedeer, with flame four you'll be able to power-grind your way up the other three trees reletivly easily.

Once you've got Grenedeer, I would suggest Expert Commando, followed by Ordinance Manufacurer. Commando is setup in such a way that, unless your dabbling in somthing else, as you level up your three heavy weapons trees, you'll acumulate enough comabat points to reach Field Tactics 4 around the same time you finesh the last one or two boxes in a heavy weapons tree.

The reason to get a full set of weapons is to allow you to play with them as your leveling. If you can get ahold of, and check out all the different types of weapons, you'll notice that there is not a single damage type that Commando is not capable of inflicting--that said its not a mater of getting an UBER flame thrower, rather using the right combination of weapons on the right opponent.

ex: A Nightsister Rancor will kill any poor schmuck trying to burn it to death. However take the same schmuck and give him/her a good firing posstion and some rockets and Mr. Rancor is dead in as little as 3 or 4 well placed hits.

I only really use two of the 4 trees. Flame IV is a must. The FT is your cread & butter. Just make sure you have a quick switch setup to switch to the LP before you start getting beat on. If you can find a weaponsmith who can make you Heavy Weapons for cheap they are great. I love using them for PVP and opening shots. I also have some CH so I think I have an advantage over the commandos who went with the pistoleer option. I send in my pet to attack a nest. As the mobs spawn they circle around the pet and ignore me. I step within 16m of the group and use Flame2. I typically hit all the mobs and the lair at the same time. Great XP, Fast Money, No damage to equipment. Of course it doesn't always work out that way but you learn to adapt.

Grenades are fun but not really all that useful and of course the HAR is just not worth having unless you plan on mastering Commando.

Good luck to you!

Weclome to the world of the commado. The only profession where you don't have enoughskill points for 2 master professions. Others can back me but I believe MC takes either 175 or 179 skill points. You can have 2 other novice professionsand maybe part ofone tree but then you will maxed out for points.

the novice profssucked up all your points, those novice profs are a baz nitchon your SP, my advice is to lose some of your CM stuff and finish commando and if CM has anything that screws up health(i dont know all i know is that damn mindpoison and riflemancrap) get is and kill to your hearts content.

*sniff* *sniff* Do you smell that.....??? Oh....my bad did my flamesingle2 just hit the jedi??? What a wonderful smell I've just discovered...

CM can poison all 3 pools and disease all 9 stats. But right now you can't even get novice CM if you're master commando.

Post CU, at least 3 lines CM, possebly master depending if they change the pre-reqs for CM.

Try this 4004 combat medic and 0040 commando till the Curb then every thing into commando

not sure if you cant get that templet but its the best of both worlds. but you have no defence at all might as well be a flame throwing poison paper plate.

the templet would work if you had a multi million dollar torch. really fast and really hard but other then that you're screwd
