Thread: Grenades and Rockets VS. Jedi

Be cool if after CURB, jedi are vulnerable to explosive weapons, such as flamethrowers, grenades, rockets, and in turn they get a useable defense such as force push (one that is active not passive, meaning the jedi must use force and time the usage of it).


Also be cool if we can see environmental effects of our weapons. Set the ground on fire to prevent a group from escaping, etc.


But yes, currently I block all ranged except grenades.

as a Master Commando/TKM/Novice Medic i used to do well against jedi by simply dizzy, KD, flame, warcry if they are still down after flame delay was over, and then pound on them with TK skills.

for jedi, you really wanna focus on melee classes, at least until CURB




Thanks all for the input, but NO I will not be staying with a melee class for killing jedi. I am not one of the bhs that hates melee bhs, in fact I really like them lol, but I want to be a BH/Pistoleer and then blow stuff up lol. Hope they fix grenade mods. /tiphat to you all

A MLS Jedi will block everything except melee, bomb droids and grenades. And grenades won't cut it. I have tried.

A MLS Jedi will block all your flamethrower shots. All of them. Even if they are KD'd.

A MLS Jedi will block all your LP shots but the lag/smoke might give you time to do.... something...

If the Jedi doesn't have MLS you stand a fighting chance as a ranged BH.

Not entirelly true, he wont block every single shot, but intresting point here. GOt a friend thats MLS and one day we dueled, him standing 15 metres away just blocking my shots while i attacked to test some stuff out. I spammed all 4 of my flame specials at least 20+times, and he blocked every single one. When I stoped using my specials and started doing regular shots only...I was htiing him with about 1/4 of my shots, for fairly decent damage too. Not enough to kill him, but enough to make him use his force for healing. Im wondering if its easiar for the jedi to block our specials then it is to do regualr shots?

Hello all. Well first let me say that I have never been a master commando, and was never a commando while jedi were around. And second let me say that I know there is no way to tell post CU what anything will be. Now with that said. I am gonna take a combo of bh/pistols/smug/commando. I was just gonna take novice commando but now have room for either grenades or the rocket launcher line. My questions for you is.

1)Can jedi block rocket launchers now? Any word on post CU?

2)Can jedi block grenades now? Any word on post CU?

3)What do you think of this opening attack? Pull bomb droid. Send bomb droid to jedi, /detonate. As the droid reaches 2 seconds start to throw a few grenades, or launch my rocket. When jedi realizes what happens, he is either dead or I go to town with my launcher pistol (for extra confusion) or my DE-10 (650 max damage with pup).

Just let me know. IMO you all are the masters of killing and taking things out (or at least should be) so that is why I bring this to you all. Thanks

From what I understand about grenades (this is what I've read in researching this very thing) they go up against the "melee defense" modifier.

And since a lot of jedi have a melee profession, a lot of time the damage output isn't that impressive, then add on top of that the accuracy issue with grenades in general.

As far as rocket launchers go, I used one *once* against a jedi, and I missed (was master commando and at ideal range). Was subsequently knocked down and dizzied immedietly, and thus killed rather quickly.


Your plan with using a bomb droid is sound though, as currently one can kill an unbuffed jedi, if it hits for enough damage.


Post CU though, who's really to know right now what any of these things will be like.

All I can tell you for sure is that commando is a boat load of fun, and I expect it probably will be post CU as well

Rockets can be blocked but throw a proton at a jedi(and hit) means dead jedi, we get no armor

Personally I'm a jedi and I'd like to see commando get the following


-flame thrower/disposable munitionscannot be saber blocked


It just makes sense realistically... even if you could block a rocket, it'll still blow up in your face. How on earth could you block a stream of mass combusting fuel ? if anything it'd completely melt the hilt of the saber. Jango Fett used his flamethrower on Mace Windu and he had to toss of his flaming robes!

MLS blocking every shot, no not true at all, i constantly duel our jedi knight whos a MLS and with cone 2 and its hidden to hit mods i actually hit him more of the time than i do with a direct shot but there is a trick to that. Dead bodies and or players around you affect your area spam shots so if your in a open field or area where there are no players you have a higher chance of hitting your target with the cone 2 shot and its hidden mods. I have done this over and over to ensure it was not a few time fluke. Also being at prime range helps as long as your flamer is built with good mods on it to hit.

Shoot the guy NEXT to the jedi with a rocket, The jedi can't blaock the blast.

I am thinking for my opening attack. Use a bomb droid and my best grenade and time it so they hit at the same time. This might be a good way for range BH to kill Knight marks
