Thread: AE XP BROKEN in last patch. Flamecone XP is screwed up
Scenario 1: Walk up to group of mobs, flamecone, kill all 3 instantly. Get xp for only ONE of the mobs (the one targeted)
Scenario 2: Walk up to group of harder mobs, flamecone, then finish them off with launcher or flamer. Get full xp for ONE mob, only small amount for others.
What the hell is going on here?
........?
When I go up to a group of enemies...flamecone...I lag for a second as it prints the 5 sets of HW xp and Combat xp...
when I flamecone a harder group of enemies...finish them all off seperately, i get the full xp for all of them...
maybe you're bugged or something, since I've never been screwed out of my xp
Nothing new? I never noticed it before.
Even so, it may not be new, but its BROKEN. Broken, broken, broken. We Commandos should be screaming bloody murder to get this fixed!
The ONE reason this class is worth taking is our AE damage. If we're not getting XP and looting rights, then its worthless. Might as well bea BH with the LLC, which easily outdamages the flamer.
When are they going to fix this!
you guys are missing some key points:
BEFORE and AFTER the patch DoT damage works like this =
loot rights/experience is NOT in any part on damage done by a DoT.
This is true with both Cone and Single attacks.
If you attack a target with Flamesingle and the target +Dodge+s or any kind of aviodance manuver, no front end damage is given to the target. *However* the DoT is still applied. Because DoT damage is not figured into experience/looting, if said target burns to death and you've not done any front-end damage, then you will get no experience and be unable to loot the body.
The same goes for Flamecone.
IF you use a flame attack on a target (either single or multipul) and the target takes front-end damage in addtion to the DoT then you've *damaged* the target in a way that DOES figure in to experience/looting rights.
If you are attacking a group of low-level mobs you are more than likely *not* going to get any experience for the mobs that were affected by the DoT only because you will not have time to cycle through all the targets and blast it with somthing.
This is nothing new, and I would be reserved to say its a *bug* as the effects of DoT's are not Commando-specific, rather this is how they have always worked.
*SUGGESTION* before using an AoE attack, cycle through and blast each target once with the regular attack, then target the strongest opponent and do the AoE move. Doing an AoE move multipul times increases your chances of inflicting Front-end damage on more than one of your targets.
If there was a bug, its not in the AoE's DoTs. Rather it would be in the low percentage of times front-end damage is done to more than one target. Which again would probably not be a bug, just how the game combat rolls work.
These circumstances do not apply to the HAR as it has no DoT, simply if the target +dodge+s you just miss.
