Please bear with me, I'm new to commando research, lol.

Flamethrower is a heavy weapon. I'm interested in what kind of missions you can take and critters you cankill to get the most Flamethrower xp as quickly as possible.

I'm LLC4 now, and when I was getting my heavy weapons xp, my best bet was always the kammuth lairs/missions on Dathomir. I could get between 3K and 4.6K heavy weapon, carbine and pistol xp every kill in those lairs and there was always 6-7 critters in each lair. I could solo the lairs and I rarely died.

Now, I've heard those missions andlairs have been nerfed, darn it.

So, where would be a good place to get Flamethrower xp now, solo?

Bols on Dantoonie.

They have no heat protection and I believe they are 3kXP each. Watch out though, they social animals, you'll need something or someone to tank. I personally used my AT-ST to attack the lair.

I love hunting Torturs on Talus. Easy as pie XP usually about 1800-2400 xp per and its all FT. Hit once and when its on you, Flamesingle. Even better when you get Flam-sin2 drop em like flies.

The best way to gain XP from the Commando XP is to take expensive missions on dangerous planets like Dathomir. Use your pet to attack a lair of Kamirith Defilers until 2 pop out. Get your pet to attack them instead of the lair at this point. They will attack the pet first because he is attacking their home of course. To make sure you should stay a distance of 50Meters away. once they are both on your pet, run up and attack them with your flamethrower. They will ignore you almost completely until they are dead. Repeat the process until the 6 defilers are dead and then use the flamethrower to finish off the nest. You should gain anywhere from 2800-3000 XP per defiler and another 3000 for the lair, not to mention CH XP and $ for the missions. It's a win win WIN!

Once you get to do Flamecone1 go with a group of people to the squill caves... let the pets and the brawlers go up front, stand back and flame away (hopefully you have a speed sliced FT). Watch everyone complain and tell you to put it away becuase you burn the poor Squillies to fast and they dont get any exp.

I group with a master doctor. We buff up and before getting missions pop pets to improve the difficulty rating. Then we store pets and do the missions, about 2k exp for each mob and close to 3k for the lair. Pets I have found best for this are probots. I get this sort of exp for creature and faction missions. With this we can almost double the difficulty rating of the mission we could do solo.

There is a real advantage to grouping in this game, both in exp gains, safety, and most importantly fun. Its a lot less like grinding with someone else than it is alone. Being able to avoid incap because you are prepared is more fun than spending almost 2 minutes on your back to get up, getting a revive if you are DB is a great way to avoid paying another insurance premium and avoid decay on your items, having someone to chat to makes the time go much better, and as an added bonus, earn exp faster than you could solo.

This is a multi player game and there are real benefits taking advantage of that fact, 2 people will earn more exp than one faster and with less risk. As I said before, what you can solo is unimportant, what you can do with others is.
