Thread: HPBC does it work?

Afraid I'm a dabbler, with only enough SP to go up 3 boxes on one tree. I'd like to go up the heavy weapons tree in order to be effective against AT-STs, but have been told that pretty much everything in commando is bugged apart from the flame tree.

Would it be worth my while going up the flame tree until the HPBC and the others on the tree are fixed? or do they work suitabley well for me to take them up now and get extra benefit from their being fixed later?

Thanks

HPBC works beautifully in PvE and from what I hear, it's quite a unpleasant surprise to PvP opponents bound and determined to stay outside our 16m special range. That was the second tree I completed while going for Master and it went a long way to help me finish up the others. I normally carry around 10 of them on me, 32 shots each. A fine weapon I must say.

Our only really broken weapon, in my opinion, is the stinking "oh how I wish it were not so bad" Heavy Acid Rifle.

The HPBC is second only to the Flamethrower as far as I am concerned when it comes to effective use in combat. I use it to pick off enemy combatants who insist on staying out of my Flamethrowers sweet spot. It is very effective especially if you have them sliced and use /AIM. In many cases I can one shot a enemy combatant or create such damage as to bring the engagement to a quick and successful conclusion.

Thanks guys, appreciate it - just a quick question, what's their effectiveness in taking out AT-STs? and do you see them as being effective against AT-ATs when they're finally added? (assuming they will be from all the pre-beta/release screenies with them in)

Can't say for certain until they are back in the field. Depends on how ranged mitigation assists us in handling the damage a ATST can do and how often it hits. My advise is not to approach a metal chicken unless you are buffed. Use the Rocket launcher with it's AP and AoE, and come armored and with friends. Flamesingle 2 and Flamecone have been my most effective tool against them.

In spite of what you may have heard up to now Commando's successfully soloing ATST's without getting at least one free trip to the vats is rare.

heavy weapons work correctly now except for them having no blast radius (that is the bugged part).

We would like the weapons to have a lot more power for them being charged weapons, but thats what we'd LIKE, not what we have.

'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'

The HBPC is nice, but with the AT-St having it's Mod vs it, it's not as good as a RL. I agree with tac, we'd LIKE to see more damage, because of the limited shots, rarity of item, and expense. But that's a want.... oh and Blast Radius fixed too
