Thread: Disarming Mines and Success Rates
Until recently, I did not realize that Commando's could disarm minefields. It was an interesting experiment when our PA recently raided an Imperial PA with 3 HQ's. They had about 15 minefields scattered around. It took 10 - 15 minutes or so to completely disarm a single minefield with 20 mines. I got incapped and killed probably 100 times, but we managed to completely disarm all the minefields.
My big question/comment is, I am a Master Commando, and out of 1000+ attempts, I was only able to successfully disarm2 mines withoutthem exploding on me. I had another 5 or so that said I had found a mine and then I kneel and it says you are disarming a mine, then BOOM! Has anyone else had any experience with this? I would think a master commando would have a little better success. It was more of a game of chain healing by 2 combat medics than it was 'disarming' skill. I had less than a 1% success rate overall.
The majority of the time,I got the message that 'you do not find any mines', but occasionally a mine would go off when I clicked on the disarm mine option, and the total mines in the field would decrement by 1, even though I got a message saying I did not find any mines.
There should be some kind of built in disarm skill mods in the commando tree somewhere, so a master has a much higher success rate than a novice.
if the mind field starts out at 20 mines in it you will fell 99% of the time
if it starts out at 10 you will sucseed 50% OF THE TIME
thats how it seems to work

thats why you tell the novice marksman in the group to take point and you follow 50m behind him.
