Just wondering as my rocket launcher aoe doesnt seem to work..

None. The AOE cones work. But the actual AoE damage calculations are obviously FUBARed for commando weapons.

As said above, the cone aoe's all work, however the only radius type weapon that works seems to be the launcher pistol.

Some weapons are innately AoE others not, the RL is one of the latter. Soon enough we'll see actually which weapons produce AoE and what doesn't...

Hmm. THe proton rifle (when it had. And the few very rare ones that still do from pre-patch) had a radius AOE.
