Thread: Taking out Bases ... How?

Sadly you missed the days when Commandoes were great for base take downs (Due to massive damage on weapons like the disposable rocket launchers) that ended with CU. Now infact riflemen are better at base take downs. Though iwth a pair of ranged arms and a proton rifle a commando isnt half bad either.


That sounds like it will change though with news of supposedly to be implemented specials that will do extra damage vs droids & structures. IN which case commando may well yet come back to the fore in anti-turret activity.

I think you mean how do you assist as one of the 5 necessary professions, right?


IIRC, the bounty hunter, smuggler and then the bio engineer have to "fix" their terminals first. Then it's your turn on the power regulator or whatever it's called (the box with the dark orange light on it).


Once you use the radial to bring up the dialog you will be faced with a puzzle of sorts where there is a number of switches (text versions of them at least) and you need to set them all into the off position. Switching one may turn a couple of them to their opposite state so you will have to try around a bit until you finish, but it should take no longer than 5-30 seconds for you to figure it out the right combination.


Really, if it sounds confusing, I promise it isn't once you are there doing it.


Once you are done the squad leader will flip the switch to set the base on auto destruct.

Oh yeah forgot bout the terminal slicing. >.< (And here I do it now and then on base raids too since i can slice two of the terminals)

Commandos are responsible for the 4th terminal, after the BE one.

Its the power regulator term, and as the other posters have said you have to turn a bank of switches (10 or so) so that they are all "on".

pretty easy (I do the BE and commando bits and the Commando bit is a lot easier than the BE bit). Just start at the switch nearest the top thats in the "off" position, and keep moving down the list making sure all the switches above the one your working on are "on". If the switch you're up to changes any youve already flipped back to "off", just go back to them.


sounds complicated, really isnt. Takes 30 secs absolute max.

then tell the squad leader to blow the building and retire for a firework display =)

Greetings Commandos,


I started playing SWG about 2 months ago. After the usual indecisions faced by most new players, I decided on the route I wanted, and that, of course, was Commando. So, now here I am, a Master Commando, and totally clueless on how to assist in the takedown of bases.

Can someone please post what's needed to accomplish this? Also, is there a level requirement to make the attempt, or is being MComm enough?


Please help out the newbie (me)
