Thread: Question for StarNick
Most likely the producers, or at least by various meetings on the current state of the game. Other than that, they don't really tell (or allude) to the correspondents on who decides what bug is more important than others, as thats in a seperate sphere from us - the internal component.
Usually when somethings being worked on, we get a response similar to that "we're working on it internally", "we know", etc etc. You could almost go as far to say "they" and "them" is used to the point where it almost sounds like a conspiracy
For #1: Most of the internal developers (not the PR Tiggs/TH, who are like us in a way as they collect issues from us and send in bug reports, participate in meetings, etc...and get paid heh), *usually* do not directly surf the forums due to maturity levels and time constraints. Thats why it was an extremely rare case to see Helios in the commando community. Instead, they mainly communicate with us in the correspondent forums due to volume/maturity levels.
On the correspondent forums however, sometimes to get attention we address threads to the developers...mainly Blixtev, Keldarin (who is the lead systems designer), Helios, and of course Thunderheart/Tiggs who are in charge of the correspondents and carry out the public relation aspect of the forums.
For #2: Don't really have an answer as we don't really know. Now, if we did... hehe that be great
Anyways, thats why Im and the other correspondents are here. When you folks feel you need to address a developer, it goes through us to the corr forums. Then either directly to some of the lead internal developers, or through TH/Tiggs to the internal developers.
StarNick
Thank you for the reply, it is very appreciated. I had figured the answer would be something like that, but thought I should ask any ways. I dont post much but have been around scince beta 3 and a commando the entire time, so I have seen how they operate even if I don't "know" how they operate.
I am aware you have plenty on your plate, but I feel it would greatly help if we could get some sort of indication as to what is being looked at for options on this, if anything, nothing detailed, no promises, simply a "we are hunting down cooding problems" or "we are relooking at commando weapons." Basicly anything that you could get to let us know that these issues are CURRENTLY being adressed, and not sitting on a shelf while they figure out why melons are not stacking in inventories properly.
I am sure you are already trying as many others have asked similar questions, but want to throw my 2 credits in.
Once again thank you for your reply, though less than I wished for, everything it could be. You are doing a great job, try to keep it up and keep your sanity at the same time.
I do know there are stuff being worked on that neither Tiggs/TH can divulge to us...exactly what and for who? We don't know yet...

Are you implying that we're lacking in our level of maturity???
We are not lacking! Are not! Are not! Are not! Are not! Are not! Are not! Are not! Are not!
*PHTBTHTHTH* nya-nya nya-nya!
So there. Now I'm gonna take my toys and go home! ![]()
However...the responses we recieved directly from Helios, shows where our forums are at. Its not really a game of favorite, rather since this community was able to rationally take the CU with an open mind and work so dang well together, we were able to get a direct developer communication channel set up. You all were beyond outstanding, and (although of course biased...but substantiated by fact!) the Commando Forums are the best forums around.
Yes, we can get out of hand every now and then - but nothing compared to other forums in question...and its usually after steaming over being screwed or waiting a year without responses - REALLY big stuff. But what happens? We go into despair, but then after a while we come together and start working, discussing issues from all sides, generating ideas and proposals that would improve the game. Not only for our profession, but as a whole...many many different type of ideas for SWG came out of these forums that don't just pertain to the profession.
We're closer than just a forum...we're commandos, and we're dang proud of being a community

When exactly is Pub 24 suppose to hit, and how soon after can we expect to see our fix take place?
No idea...but since everything is on TC2 and being tested along with the ToW expansion, I'm thinking around Nov 1st give or take a week or so. This is only a guess as there is (that Im aware of) no specific eta when our new stuff is coming to live...
Oh yeah, really worried about the new higher action cost, are they really going to live?
You mean the action costs being applied to healing? It looks like it...
And did jedi really whine for this? Just wanted to tell all of the commandos out there to keep your heads up, hopefully something good is coming.
Not that I'm aware of...I know a few other folks that are not jedi whined about the surprise from Helios, but that's about it...
