Well folks. I'm coming to a crossroads of training. I am almost a master CH, a grenadeer, and have up to level 3 heavy weapons support with only 10k left for 4. The problem is, to keep heavy weapons, I needed to sacrifice medic. I rarely get hurt because my pets serve as a meat shield. Also, I can simply use pet stims for healing. I would like an honest opinion regarding keeping heavy weapons or getting medic again. Any help would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have some advice on which Faction to go with i.e., Imperial or Pirate. Are they fairly even in power or does Imp have a big advantage? Thanks for any advice on the subject.

just pick one every faction has it advantages, and everyones thoughts on this is different. I personaly like the privateers, because if you go corsec aligned you can fight imp or rebel vette. I first went with sumggler that starts on tattoine. The only down side to me was having to do the jabba theme park.

The only advantage you have in space is the ship you fly and the droid commands you use. The droid commands though make up for the ships downfalls in the end to me.

All Pilot clusters are different in style, but "power" levels are pretty much equal. Without knowing anything about the sort of flying you might prefer or the difficulty level you want for missions, I can't go any deeper in detail than that.

Thanks for the advice, leaning towards Pirate for flexibility reasons and in-case I ever drop Imp it would be a pain to change pilot factions from what I have read.

ya from what i hear you have to get the faction points back to 0 or close to it before they will even talk to ya. kill rebel cant be a rebel until you kill enough imps to make them happy. thats what i hear. As a freelancer all i ever got in faction points where in the vette mission which was only 600 points.

Imps get the best ace jacket. 'Nuff said.

Oh, and Bstrike3. And the impressor - oops, I meant oppressor.

Oh, and the interceptor too! That ship is just plain sexy.
Did I mention that the Decimator is the coolest and most stylish POB ship?

Im nearing the completion of my Jedi template, but have been playing the game since 03, i had alot of fun with other professions which is why i waited so long. I saw how all the pre-9 jedi spent countless hours trying to unlock before the patch which eliminated holo grinding. Then came the village, it was a quest based way for everyone to have the ability to get jedi. I dont think SOE in there right mind knew they would have that many jedi on there hands. So now they are faced with too many Jedi, as commented earlier, that Lucas felt there are too many Jedi in this timeline of the game. Well they cant take away accounts from people, and they cant stop people from playing there jedi. However they can make it so you will be unhappy to play it after you reach your full template. They made a BH template which can be skilled up in a couple days, with tools that can overpower a jedi. Now the player base is still smart, when soe closes the door, the player base finds a way to deal with it. Which is why jedi gets nerfs. They want the BH population to control the Jedi population, cause then they have done there job and no trace of tampering can come bac kto them. Example, dots for bh's were broke when last patch came down, it took less then 24hrs to fix it. Plus they made posts it will be fixed. Well Force regen was broken with the new robes, and nothing. Dont expect Soe to make Jedi a Nice experience for anyone, cause they screwed up by allowing that many in the game. Its advertised that you can be a jedi so they have to let you get one, but they will silently do what they can to make it so you wont play one. Cloak-nerfed, Fr-nerfed. As funny as it sounds about letting them in the a private structure, i remember a certain csr that put a bounty hunter on the cantina terminal, and the bh went in and killed the jedi. So here is the choices aspect of it. We are capped at 10mil jedi debt. It will only take a grinder perhaps a couple weeks to grind this, Play your jedi, play the content, if a bh comes after you and kills youoh well, dont let the BH or SOE win,you worked hard to get here, and you can easily get out of debt when you are ready to change your template. Dont threaten to quit because they change it, cause thats what they want.

I've read through alot of the messages here on this forum and various others. Seems to me most of the messages are basicaly how to make Jedi more ubber then the next profession, but yet give no real detail on how to do it without messing up other professions (such as BH).

I think its a given that the Bounty Hunter Profession and Jedi Profession are joined at the hip. You need to accept this before coming up with ideas. You need to detail how by making certain changes to one profession it will not mess up the other profession.

I think the best thing to do is start a discussion of what you would like and would accept in both the Jedi Forum and the BH forum then have the corospondents get togeather and hash out what is acceptable. Then take this list to the Development team. To me this is a lot better then the hate flames that seem to populate both forums towards the Development team. All the hate flames do is make the Developers ignore us. Also by saying we need are lightsabers more powerful, how do you offset it so BH's still have a chance to take out a mark? (yes i agree the Post-CU sabers are weaker then normal weapons right now, but do you want them stronger then normal weapons or are you willing to let them be of the same strength as normal weapons?)

YesI know there are lots of bugs that need to be fixed, but you can say that about every other profession. If you guys feel ignored you should check out the commando forums, they have definatly been the red headed step child of the Dev's for a very long time. So for now ignore the bugs and lets just get a basic idea of what we want in the game and how to make it so its acceptable among all professions.

First on the list should be the strength of the Jedi. For the sake of argument lets say we make Jedi 2x stronger then any other combat profession. If we do this then how do we fix the problem with everyone becoming Jedi because of it being the Alpha Profession? How do you balance POI's & Instant Cavesso normal professoins still have a chance of winning them but still make them challenging for a Jedi and make it so Jedi will not be able to camp the caves and horde all the loot.

Personaly I really feel if you want Jedi to be stronger then theother profession you need some sort of penality system for dying that will make the Jedi profession only appeal to the hardcore players (thus creating Jedi population control). From what I can see the Dev's have made it clear that if the Jedi profession is not going to have any real penality for dying then they are going to make them like all the other proffessions strength wise. That is definatly the direction were heading. I feel Perma Death is to extreame. But there needs to be made a compromise between losing your jedi toon from dying to just losing some xp which can be grinded back in no time in a Jedi spin group.

Would the Jedibe willing to have more extreame penalties applied to them for dying if they are truely 2x stronger then other professions? If we can not agree upon this then we might as well let the Development team make Jedi a standard elite profession.

I think the idea is that things should be balanced. SOME, not all, but some ideas ask for things that may hurt other profs a little such as BH but some of this is because there is a need to balance the two profs. Currently there is no drawback for BH's to hunt jedi but there is a large drawback for jedi if you are killed by a BH. Something like this may need to fixed and in the process hurt BH's slightly but in order to make it fair it may be the only way.

Simple soluton would be if a BH failed a certain amount of missions he's name would end up on the terminals for other BH to hunt him. Trust me there would be plenty of BH's would love to hunt each other

Something like this I think would be fair, but keep in mind that IF jedi were 2x stronger they would have to have stiffer penalties then a BH.

I heard about this system but it was never introduced...that would be fun!
