Please do not post inappropriate links on this board. While I understand you are frustrated you cannot violate our community policies.

Frustrated? Wow that's an understatement! Why not fixing us instead of violating someone's right to speak and express themselves.

Actually, you don't really have rights to express yourselves on these boards, and his rights weren't violate.

I have a website where I can post whatever I want. I pay for the website, if I wanted to I could put up a web server fairly cheaply and and it would be all mine.

You do not have the right to go on my website and post whatever you want. That would be violating my freedom of speech. You do have the right to get your own website and post what you want...that is your freedom of speech.

This board belongs to Sony. This is Sony's right to free speech....they let us post here, but we don't have legal rights to post here.

If you put a message board up on your web site. Fully expect for people to express their own veiws. That is the point of the board. If you dont agree with them ...move along

Freedom of expression is a restriction on your government, not on the public. The US government can't restrict what you have to say. (ie. Saying something bad about Bush's policies.) There are things that are illegal to say, such as "I want you to kill Xxxx", which can get you put in jail for death threats, so not every possible sentence that can be constructed is legal.

A newspaper gets to pick which letters it puts in its Editorials section. Similarly, SoE can choose not to publish everything here that is submitted.

The newspapers have a certain responsibilty in what they present to the public, even in editorials, and there are laws to support/ prosecute that. This, however, is a public webpage, but a privately owned entity. You have to agree to certain rules and restrictions in signing up for it. SOE can make these whatever they want (rule 5065: give us your first born child). So, if an SOE employee tells you to shut up, he is in the right regardless of what youwantto say, regardless of USA freedom of speech issues.

That being said, I find it interestingthat the SOE rep saw this thread, read it, and "...understandsyou are frustrated...."Maybe the Devs know a little more than they are letting on regarding Commando issues. (I can be hopefully optimistic, can't I?)

Does anyone else wish they had one of those stress relief balls but in the likeness of Raph Koster? I would have bought the collectors edition for that.

This is and was not a freedom of speech case. People have the right to say what they want, and Sony has the right to delete it from the site. However, for these boards to be of value you need to hear both sides. If Sony chooses to start deleting what it does not like, it is violating people's opinions, and it will make the boards less usefull than they already are.

Ton, yes, a certain amount of responsibility is required. But that responsibility does not include presenting both sides. Respectable newspapers try to present some of both sides, but that is their choice, not their responsibility.

This is a privately maintained forum. Though accessible by the public, it is absolutely no different from anything else. There are no laws that force a privately owned and maintained forum to not play favorites.

Public television shows are edited for content in exactly the same way. You see what they want you to hear, and nothing more. People's comments are taken out of context, presented in the worst possible light, and spliced together in the order the show wants you to see. And yet, they are untouchable for it.

Basically, you're free to speak whatever you want, wherever you want...

But no one can be forced to listen to you.
