first, i haven't noticed a cert of an acid stream launcher - by chance is it the acid beam?

secondly, i got one recently for an insanly cheap price , and it says its a variation of a beam weapon - anyways, it also does enrgy (or heat? forget..) damage...how the heck can acid do that damage! of course...big reason..it has to be bugged

however, i noticed something very odd when i fired it...it fired blaster bolts!! the gun itself is exactly what a hvy acid rifle looks like as well - who knows either it got messed up with a rifle, OR maybe its the comings of a commando blaster? (btw it has light AP as well)

its been proerly named beam rifle.
now if the dev can just give us the cert in beam rifle. all will be good. it uses rifle specials. that will give ppl a weapon to use if they dont like to be pistoleers. and i personaly love that look. its a big gun for a big weapon wielding class. i not sure if it gives rifle or heavy weapon exp.. cuz i only hit for 22 damage. hard to get any exp doing that

The ASL is an over the shoulder rocket launcher type weapon that sprays victims with a green stream of acid.

With that said, you're probably using some bugged heavy acid rifle if it doesn't use charges.

Now the ASL is a great weapon, but the effects are messed up, and instead of firing a stream, it closer resembles something Peter North would do as a trademark move. There's acid everywhere, and rarely in the direction you fire.

So no matter which one you got, it's probably gona be bugged. HAR fires foot long sticks of frozen "wet fart" to quote someone more inclined with the art of analogy than myself, and the ASL = Peter North.

Now that that is taken care of, how would you discribe the weapon now?

heck in the description it didnt say anything about acid!

Before the "Big Patch" there was as mislabelled schematic in the weaponsmiths datapad. The weapon it created was listed as an Acid Stream Launcher. It fires red blaster bolts and has no certification in the game to be able to use it. (None that I have heard about to this date anyway). After the "Big Patch" the description of the weapon now included the variation type of Beam rifle.

To the best of my knowledge this weapon is still unusable by anyone. If this is the case, they should have wiped all those dud weapons to avoid people selling them unkowingly, or knowingly. There is a newer version of the acid stream launcher that does actually work, it has the same graphic when equippedas the dud one from before the patch. It fires a dart/arrow type projectile that does acid damage. Also, the acid beam is charged and shoots a green beam as mentioned above as an over the shoulder rocket launcher type weapon (not used like an equipable weapon, used like grenades).

Anyways bottom line appears to be there is a weapon still in the game that no one can use, and unfortunately some people are still having to pay for them

Gah, I appear to reversed the HAR and the Acid stream launcher in my descriptions above :/

Both weapons are in game and working as intended now, but unfortunately there is still the pre big patch bad copy that is useless.

Beam rifle is an old beta weapon whcih we no longer in live get a cert for. The over the shoulder launcher and the Heavy Acid Rifle are the correct weapons.

heh well this only cost me 4k....pathetic pocketchange to me (if it was 14k or anything around there, i wouldnt have bought) - at least itll serve as a prank when your in a group of commandos saying you got a HAR!
