Thread: Best way to get unarmed combat xp?
This has been mentioned a few times before, but the way i am currently raising my UC exp is by getting Diseased Bocatt missions from various cities on tatooine (mainly mos entha due to the convenient mission terminal outside of town) All you need to do is buy a vibro knuckle that does a decent amount of damage that has a fairly decent speed (less than 2.0)
By doing this you will not do max damage, but you will do more dmaage than just by fighting with your hands and you will hit them considerably faster.
Im level 2 -- almost level 3, so if you just are starting out im not sure if vibro knuckles are worth it (not sure what kind of damage you would do) but once you get level 2 or 3 things go by pretty fast (7-9k exp per hour with recoop time)
I used a tactic I accidentally discovered recently. I had all the novice elite marksman professions (i got every novice i could) and novice ranger, with those skills i would use a double-bleed from prone 64m out with conceal(maskscent if you don't have conceal). Then, after they bled once they would charge towards me, I would throw a phenacine dart(slows them down incredibly) and let them bleed until nearly dead and hand-to-hand a hit or so and run away. This would give me full unarmed xp for any creature I used it on.
FYI, dont use the adhesive meshes because alot of oyur xp will be combat rather than unarmed. (hmmm could idea for combat xp though (adhesive mesh adds a bleedlike damage))
I was on tatooine hunting matriarch banthas, various dewbacks and great rats.
argh... no edit.
"could be a good idea for combat xp"
I hate typing and spellcheck.
The bleed shot works well.
Grouping with a pet (droid, animal, etc) and not having it attack, or grouping with a friend and parting ways to do your own thing gives you the bonus XP.
Diseased bocat missions in Bestine and Anchorhead on Tat (usually less than 600 meters or less away from the term in question) is nice. You can make anywhere from 1-2k per mission.
My biggest advice? Pay the money for doctor buffs (I sound like a damned commercial for doctors!). You're talking 1 to 2.5 hours of anywhere from 700 to 1.5 (my personal min/max when I've bought them) in enhanced physical stats from a master doctor. I've paid upwards of 7k for the full line of six (I've had a H/A 2.5k before) - it means you don't go down as fast, your H/A regens faster, and specials don't take as much out of you.
Works WELL.
