Hey, Im working on becoming a commando just for the purpose of soloing. Very rarely will I be in a group. Not having a tank is out of the question for me, I will need something to soak up my damage for me.

Im going for Master Commando, but should I be a Rebel and spend the points to be a 3/2/0/0 CH or be an Imperial who gets an AT-ST and use the extra points to work up the medic tree.

On a side question though, how many times can you turn in a full set of disks for faction points?

lots of questions... okay... Rebel/Impy SHOULD be a 'how I want to play' choice. Minmaxing is fine and dandy, but I feel pity that it's your goal. *sighs* Okay, for tanking, very few mobs can compare to the heavy armor/70resistjustabouteverything ATSTs. Medic is very valuable, but I've been debating 3200 CH vs 2040 medic myself lately. Stopping a bleed and saving someone's life at fort tusken is a good thing, especially when the not-corpse in question is your rezzer who got mind-incapped and would have had to take the long walk... having a graul mauler/fruminous bandersnatch/clawed jabberwock can prevent such wounds from happening in the first place. Both 'dabbling' professions require skill and patience. Note I didn't say exp... you need to rethink your own skills (you the player, not you the character) to manage a pet or pay attention to everyone else's HAM bar.

As for the side question... Once. Just once. After you turn in 1 set of either, you get about 1k credits and a 'thankyouverymuch' from the recruiter. There's a reason disks are for sale and why they go 5k each, 20 for a set.

Also when you turn the disk in the first time you get 500 faction pts. Pharmacology isnt that great if u can get some can make u some Stimpack-B's that are 33uses at 365 healing, i have first aid 4 only and can heal up to 900 with those, there is no reason to get pharmacology in my opion since those Stim-B's are more powerfull then some Stim-C's and D'sthat i have seen. If u want to know who that person that can make such great stims, his name is Luhzren ont he Bloodfin server, just tell him i sent u.

What vince said about the disks is spot-on. You get the credit reward every time you turn them in, but you only gain faction points the first time.

As for other skillpoints, you've a few options. First off, going Imperial and taking an ATST is not an option. Remember, in one of the next big patches is a modification which causes AT-ST's to ONLY be usable in faction-based player-versus-player, meaning you could only use an ATST to attacka rebel. You will NOT be able to use them in PvE against any type of enemy mobs. If you want a tank, a Graul Mauler (CH 3-2-0-0) is the only perfect option. They're light-armor 75%-Kinetic, meaning they only take 100-150 damage from a Krayt Dragon. Grauls own =)

As for medic...well.... If you plan to participate in PvP, some medic is an absolute necessity. Other than that, I personally wouldn't take it IF you have CH 3-2-0-0. Your pet will be able to take all the agros for you unless you're stupid and charge into a bad situation. PetStims easily outperform real stimpacks and require no skill to use.

Wasn't it announced that they're removing faction pets from non-faction PvE? (i.e. No ATSTs taking unless you're fighting a player or a rebel target).

That's my understanding...to stop Wilma from soloing Krayts.
