Well the screenshot is on my PC at home, and I'm at work now so I don't have the screenshot...I may take the time to come back and post it later. Well,I was out on Lok soloing Marauders and I did my usual...send in rock beetle, run up and do /aim;/flamesingle2.

It hit for 16,577 damage.

No dot needed, that was the damage from the initial blast. Are other commandos with flamethrower IV seeing this kind of damage? Granted, this is the only time I've seen this...I immediately spammed flame2 on the base after I was done and it regularly hit for 5k - 7k damage. So I can safely say that this was indeed rare. I'm guessing it was just a fluke high roll on the random damage modifier of that particiluar special, since I can't reproduce it regularly.

I was just curious if any other commandos have seen a crazy damage number like this off a flame2 special, or if this is as rare as I think it is.

If the Marauder was an NPC and not a mob (I don't which kinf those guys are), he could have been holding a rifle. That would get the damage to the point that you saw it.

Yeah, marauders on Lok are NPC's. I didn't think about the rifle damage multiplier though, that is a good point. I don't remember if it was holding a rifle at the time though, although that is possible a

Beetles do posture down attacks. A NPC who is prone will take alot more damage than a NPC who is standing.

I've had a few 15k hits. I think the first thing that effects this is the NPCs resist to fire (heat),

Check this out next time you attack and use that as your messure.

hitting prone npc's with rifles preduces insane results.

I have hit an Imp medic for 14140. I've hit alair for 31440. I hit quite often in the 13k to 16k range. This is vs mobs and npc's alike. Prone, standing, pistol wielding and even those with a staff. I personally think the devs tried to ninja nerf us and got the numbers backwords. I'll try to get a few screen shots of some big numbers.

A funny but not so funny story.

Last night me and my bro zazo where running around and not getting much accomplished. While sitting in the cantina waiting for others, I got board and the following took place. Now mind you, 1) Me and Zazo have dueled friendly duels many times and he always has won. 2) I have yet to duel anyone using a special on my FT until now.

Skiluap turns to Zazo.

/slap; Skiluap says "what up bitch"

/punch; "you looking at me" Skiluap askes

/push; "you wanna fight" Skiluap askes

Zazo, "here we go."

Skiluap, "come on, Boy"

Zazo Flyrider challenges you to a duel.

/equip Flamethrower

/accept duel

/single2

You have incapacitaed Zazo Flyrider.

/endduel

What I failed to realize was what was coming. I could not get Zazo up because he took it all in mind damage.

While he laid helpless on the floor, on fire the rest of us sat and comforted him. I said I was sorry but needed to check out my new special in a pvp.

Then he got up. not realizing he was still on fire, the DOTs started to hit.

we tried to rush him to water, but the wounds were really gonna hurt him.

Finally his flames went out but not befor taking 530 health wound damage.

The moral of the story is, please don't flame your friends. Zazo is better now physically, but the mental wounds will only heal with time and trust.
