Im finally master marksman and Im now training unarmed. I read about the leviasquall thing, and I have action shot 1 and 2. I found a regular squall to test, and when I pressed my double actionshot macro i quickly unequipped it after my actionshot finished, and hit it a few times with my fist. When it died I got half carb exp and half unarmed. I tried again on another squall with the same tactic except i pressed peace after my bleeds and still the same thing... am I doing something wrong or does it not work anymore?

try punching it first, then sticking the bleeds on it.

I've had this problem too but I have managed to get it to work. The key is to make sure you only hit the mob with your bleeds. Even 1 normal shot with your carbine and it'll ruin everything. I actually wrote a macro to make sure I didn't screw the proverbial pooch. It was something like this:

/ui action toolbarSlotxx (where xx is the carbine in your toolbar)

/actionShot1

/actionShot2

/ui action toolbarSlotxx

Hope that helps!

I had a few probs with the macro but I fixed the kinks in it and I still got carb xp, I noticed if the bleed killed the monster I got carb xp, I havent been able to kill the monster before the bleed does though.

As the poster above said, the key is to not hit it with any normal/default shots because odds are your combine does a lot more damage than the hit, even in default mode.

Here is what I do fairly regularly whether I'm trying to get unarmed XP, HWs XP, pistol XP or whatever, but it requires some hunting.

Find an animal that has a high resist to anything that you can take down with a bleed, action bleed or whatever. Then use the weapon that the critter has a high resist to for the bleed. Then use the weapon you want XP with to shoot itonce or twice. And fwiw, you can get really huge XP this way by taking down animals over your head if you have feign death.

Couple of examples.

Endor:

Seething Bols- High blast resist. I get about 60 meters out and shoot it with healthshot 1 and 2 with LP. Then I disarm, if another shot goes off by default it really doesn't matter because its resistant to it anyway. Then I unarm and throw a few punches and feign death. Can't remmeber for sure but i was getting about3thousand unarmed XP each this way.

Bark Mites- Very high heat resists, want to say 100%. Same thing but i use the flame thrower to add a dot after either hitting it unarmed or using a pistol that it isvulnerable too(kinetic I think). I'd get like 5000 pistol XP each for 1 shot, even the default shot will do it i think. I always just fired fan shot a time or two, flame then feign death. Wait a short while then collect 5K pistol XP.

It also helps to knock the animal down before you bleed just to make the bleed more severe.

I had to go to a weaponsmith and pick up a bunch of diffrent pistols, kinetic, stun..etc. Things that previously seemed useless basically.

Just realized that wasn't very clear. Here's the short of it

Do bleed or burn, any sort of DOT with a weapon thatthe animal has a high resistto. Thenshoot it witha weapon type(pistol, carbine, unarmed..ect)that you want XP in, but use a weapon that its vulnerable to(stun, kinetic, blast, energy..etc)

Bark mites give higher XP than any other animal I've seen in the game. A little over 5K XP each.

I'm pretty sure Bark mites are kinetic vulnerable and Blood Seeker mites are stun(tangle pistol) vulnerable, but high heat resist, but i could be wrong. I've been hunting around for different animals so much I've got all the different animals mixed up.
