I picked up novice fencer tonight. This raises my ranged defense to 37 from 32. This calls for a new test. For those of you that have not been following this story, you can catch up here...

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=commando&message.id=24097

All the forms were the same from the original tests. There is somthing I need to point out though. I was calculating my percentages incorrectly on the other tests. I was not adding the misses into the over all number of shots While this does not mean anything to the question of wheather the mods stack, it is nice to have the right numbers. So, the numbers should read as follows:

Test 1 (RD 22) 14.55% Miss

Test 2 (RD 32) 18.4% Miss

And the new test with +5 RD from novice fencer (note: I was holding the LP on this one in case you were wondering)

Test 3 (RD 37) 23.32% Miss

This last test was a total of 343 shots. I was going to duble that this time around, but my testing partner was not up to it. I will have Precision striking III soon and will up the shot count for that test.

Hope this helps

What you have in your hands is key to this whole issue. What is an LP and thank you very much for these tests!

Update:

Picked up precision striking III +5 to RD bringing my total to 42

Same test standard. 600 Shots.

26% Misses.

I liked the 4-5% increses better

Not sure if I will be getting Fencer standards and grips (+2)or precision striking IV (+10) next. It is going to depend on how much fencing I can stomach at once. Not a big fan of the melee combat.

Wez, if you read through the other thread, you will see that what you hold in your hands does not make a difference. I have done them with the flame thrower, a knife, nothing and the LP (launcher pistol) And I mentioned it in this last test just for you cause I knew you would ask.

Thanks for the effort on the part of both you and your tester. Nice work.

I wonder how the test would turn out with the shooter being a master pistoleer, carbineer or rifleman rather than a master marksman. That'sa big key as it pertains to PVP imo. Most the players out there are master or real close to master in their weapon of choice.

I would like to know the answer to that as well, but that was not the original point of the tests. I started them because I wanted to find out for sure if the defense mods worked cross profession. Now, I keep doing them to see how much of a percent change I get.
