I just got kinda excited about this, cause i realized you can do this:
stop something in it's tracks with smuggler abilities
while that's cooling down, your gun warms up and you blow them up
while your gun cools down you stall em again.

rinse repeat
i'm excited.

Hmm, a commando that can blow up bases... Who'd a thunk! That is if Smugglers still blow up bases after the CU.

Awhile back I hinted that kiting was going away with the CU...now you can pretty much see what I mean...

If someone is kiting you and you have smuggler abilities, Mez them so you can get them into range of your bigger more damaging attacks...OR...feign death so they think you are dead, and since they HAVE TO come into Melee range to DB you, jump up and burn them up...

There are also other way to deal with kiting, but those to me were the most interesting options...this is a reason why I think Smuggler will be a popular choice with many templates, especailly with Commando...and if you add in their proposed revamp plans, Smuggler just keeps looking better and better...

What if they have Rifleman Sniper Shot? Or is that going away too?

Plus, DBing won't be instant now..

So, when they come near you...grab their T-21 rifle, and whap that Rifleman in the head

Hmm...that be a cool animation for a sneak attack =)

I've also been looking heavily at this concept. While details are scant, it looks to me like commandos will excel at dealinghigh damage to a single opponent, and smuggler will be able to create that one on one situation. Sounds like a match made in heaven (or maybe hell, depending on which end of the flame thrower you're looking down)to me. Combine this with the abilty to slice your own stuff, and retune it if it gets outta whack, and I am liking it more and more.

I am also pondering the nature of interchangeable attacks, and wondering if the hybrid professions will offer more of these in exchange for costing 15 more skill points (brawler and marksman) than a profession based in only onenovice skill. If there is anything to that theory, this combination could prove exceedingly flexible. Dictating the terms of combat, then ripping those opponents apart with heavy weaponry, tailored to that specific enemy.

Can't wait to see this stuff on the TC. I wish I had the time to really dedicate to beta test some of these things. I would have liked to have signed up for this one.
