Thread: For my Sanity: Clarification on New Specials
The New specials -only- modify the primary damage of our weapons. Meaning, a Plasma FT and Proton Rifle will be modified by the same special, against your target. The AoE splash damage of the Plasma FT will remain as if you were using ranged shot (or something similar). This of course doesn't apply to non-AoE weapons as they don't have AoE.
Once again, the specials only modify primary damage and do not touch AoE damage, but they all work with our weapons AoE or not. This has been brought up and answered all too many times already, both in Beta and on here.
I knew it, I knew it.
You can always count on the devs to either screw us over, or royally screw up anything meant to help us.
Tell me, really; how many of you were honestly surprised that the specials don't work quite as well as they should?
I actually agree with you nbd9k that it is more effective to have another elite profession to complement commando; however there is a movement with the gamer society that to have multilpule professions orto be a dabbler in mutliple perfessions is anti-social. If any one person tries to advance and better himself in battle in the swg world people cry foul. It is their incorrectbelief that noone should be better than anyone else in battle, no one should be the victor unless it is them obtaining victory, and noone should have an advantage over the other. What they fail to realize is to obtain this type of gaming environment would require to have only one profession, onespecies, one weapon, one armor type, no buffs, no foods, no healing supplies, no individualism, no ca's, no aa's, no weapon enhancements, no sliced weapons, no sliced armor, no weapons scopes, no weapons stocks, and ultimately no fighting since there cannot be a victor because we are not allowed to be better than another. This is unfortunately becoming more and more evident in reading the forums of each profession, and I will step out on a limb to say that it is not the dev's fault that this game has been in a downward spiral for some time now, but it is this group of players who believes noone should be able to "Stand On Its Own".

To use a phrase my dear ol' dad is fond of using:
The SWG developers could screw up a 2 car funeral.
Not to be mean, but it's true...
p.s. I use the phrase "SWG developers" because I play EQ2 a huge amount, and the EQ2 teamseems to have NONE of the same thought-pattern / half-assiness problems that the SWG team seems to have most of the time. They constantly and SIMULTANEOUSLYimplement bug fixes, expansions, AND mini-expansions, and get stuff done quickly and right 95% of the time. If it is not right, there are usually 5-10 developers posting multiple times a day to try to get there.
