Hey, I'm rather new to commando, and was wondering if the proton rifle is a weapon worth buying. Also, does it have any sort of AOE that would hit multiple enemies and get me unwanted agro in dungeons like DWB? I read the weapon guide, which says it's non-aoe, but when I /examine the weapon it still says radius of 6 or something.

Its a non-aoe weapon, does roughly between 1k and 1.1k damage, and is looted off necrosis. Or you could spend a few mil and buy one.

Not completely accurate. I have 6 different Proton Rifles and 4 outa the 6 do AOE. Why some do and some dont i have no clue cause it clearly says "6m radius" when u examine it.

Pre-Publish 18 Proton Rifles = AoE
Post-Publish 18 Protons Rifles = non-AoE

Post-Publish 24 = non-AoE

Any AoE proton rifles, are most likely pre-patch legacy ones...as originally the fix to make the proton rifle to fire again (between Patch 15 and 18, it would "misfire" and yield nothing) wasn't even suppoused to touch legacy versions. That also means there are some rifles out there that that flat out dont work, since only some legacy versions worked w/ the AoE post-publish 18.

i'm mastering commando again just because i saw one.
and i got mine for 700k on Wanderhome.

i left commando cause i was lead to believe i would blow the crap out of everything... and i got owned by a TKM in like three hits.

so i mastered TKM. but i'm doing Commando again, hopefully to support my guild more.

of the ones i chose from which ranged from 700k to 2mil the only difference was the damage by maybe 4 points.

SAC, DPS, and what-not all the same.

The only one I saw: 1016 max dam. 2.81 speed, 272 dps, sac around 120 (forgot min-dam)

If they're all like that... thats really that great?

well, the ones on wanderhome were around 1020-1030ish if i remember correctly.
