Thread: New commando.

Hi all. I've been playing SWG for a while, and i went over to a buddies house and he was a commando. He let me kill some tuskens and other monsters with his flamethrower. Man its one hella of a weapon.. Im planning on being a commando aswell. And i have a few questions.



Is the acid launcher, that explosion pistol, grenades and rocket launcher any good?


I figured out its possible to be a commando and carbineer. With deadly knockdowns you will be an uber version of a BH. And because since the flamethrower is good only close up. Knock em down/confuse them, then its BBQ time. Is this a good combination or not?


Those are my only questions.

id say get all commando wpns for the diversity flamers are cool but... sometimes you just need to shuck a few nades for fun

well just to let u know u can't use carbine knockdown with the flamer, carbines and heavy weapons are completly different and u can't mix and match them. sry
also the flamer is prty much the only good commando weapon.

I recommend you getting the Launcher Pistol 1st thing. The commando tree is very lenient and any heavy weapon gets you XP. The launcher pistol is one of those "cheat" weapons like the DH17 pistol or the Spraystick. Its a Heavy Weapon that does pistol moves. Being your accuracy with be near horrid until your at least halfway up the treewith theflamer and acid rifleand you cant special with any weapon at novice youd be best off just using bodyshot with the launcher pistol. Once your several boxes up in flamer you can afford to miss with the speed youve gotten. If your planning on grinding the tusken fort the acid rifle is most effective on the big ones.

Welcome to the Commandos.


I was a novice Commando for a while.....working my way up the ranks. I had to take a short vacation (RL got real busy). When I returned, my mind must have suffered some damage from that spice I used a few months back.....and I decided to try out Pistoleer (also, I decided to go with what I wanted to do from the beginning.....Smuggler!).


Shortly thereafter, I found a few grenades in the pack of a mauler who ambushed me.At that moment, I realized that I missed being a Commando!


I visited the bank and retrieved my heavy weapons from my safety deposit box.....and I have since rejoined my brother Commandos!


Every Commando I have come across has been very helpful....a true brotherhood. I am proud to be a Commando. We have a great correspondant in Garvin as well.


I am looking forward to the Combat Balance...curious to see what happens. I am also looking forward to both the Commando and Smuggler revamps! Until they happen, I will continue to have fun and develop my RP story. Good luck to you!

I will begin working up the tree.


But seriously about the carbine and flamethrower???? LIke...lets say i started a duel with my carbine. Knockdown and dizzy them in 2 shots. Then switch to my flamethrower while running to them, and Its cookin time!!.

heh, does your knockdown last longer than the new delay in switching weapons? It is hard enough to open with a grenade these days.

Until they fix the HAM cost on carbines I would go TK. Its a much more common combo and I normally wouldnt suggest being a TK because about 1/2 the fighting population has it but its got meditation, knockdown, dizzy, KnockDown w/ dizzy, Blind, Stun, and 3 body specific attacks 1 for each part of the HAM bar.

Ok question. If a Master TKA and master Commando both fight, with armor , no buffs or foods/spices. And the TKA used his/her strongest attack (roundhouse i think) no knockdowns or dot'sor personal buffs. And the commando used his flamethrower and used his/her strongest attack (flamesingle 2 i think). Who would win?

The TKM, probably. The Commando would miss 50% of the time due to the TKM's stupidly high Ranged Defence and the TK would kill him in the 7+ second recharge.
