I am going to make the assumption that you are asking this as if you believe we are good at PvP. Therefore, my response would be a squill does not wear composite armor, defense stack, or hit for 3k a second on the mind. That is the short answer. Someone else should come along shortly with the long one.

Because the system is broken at the moment.Thats why there is the combat balance coming, someday.

Ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a rocket launcher in your backpack.

If you have ever played a first person shooter you would know how hard it is to hit someone DEAD ON with a rocket launcher, and you have to be really close to them to effectively use a flamethrower.

Our domain will always be PvE and taking down ATST's.

I am going to assume this person has not used the HAR. Yes is looks very cool equiped, but it's a brken piece of trash, and probrably the least effective weapon in the game, even at level 4.

LOL. Definitely. You said it perfectly on this one Callaway. Sigh...

Oh.. you wanna know why commandos are terrible in PvP? I will tell you.

On second thought.. maybe not. Just get to master and try it out for yourself. Then you will see why. ^_^

They should put in the description box at novice, something like this:

Wraning, do not use Commando for PvP, the Development team cannont and will not be held responsible for your embarisment after having your ass handed to you in the first 3 second. Have a nice day now, and remember; you're not broken, and are working exactly as intended.

Bah, we may not be the gods that we used to be before the nerfs and we may not be able to compete against the FOTM, but i for one am still killing 80% of the people i fight against. If you make full use of armor, food, buffs and spices and the fact that the flame DOTs still stack you can survive most encounters. Heck, i've even killed a jedi working on his ranking, he wanted to duel and i lit him up quicker than i used to wookies... sabers block the initial damage... but the DOTs still stick, the jedi was dead in less than 15 seconds.

On the brighter side of things... we are now the most combat oriented class in the game. Coupled with the fact that we are in a 3-way tie for lead SP cost (with BH and CM) we should be recieving some bonuses come combat rebalance time.

Very interesting. Did you use purely your commando skills when you fought people? I mean, if you are also TKM and you shoot your flamethrower once or twice for the DoT won't count.

Anyhow, I would like to know what your tactics and strategy were. The way I see it, there really aren't many tactics or strategies to think of, but if someone has been successful, I would like to know how. Hats off to you as well. Good to see that there is somebody who is a commando and can manage fairly well. ^_^

I'm with Jassmin on this.....Jarik, to be a decent opponent in PvP, you surely rely in your alternative skills...no way with your Master Commando skills could you beat your adversaries the 80% of the time (and if this is the case i will pack all my items andtravel to Ahazi.... )

Seriously, all the PvP players out there are Riflemans (whocan wipe your mind in less than 5"), CM, Fencers and TKM....

Explain me how you can take down a rifleman (especifically to enter at the range of 16 m. to flame them, and how that riflemen didn t kite....), explain me how with your MC skills only, can you hit one of those super dodgers (Fencers), explain me how with your MC skills can you survive the barrage of poison and dissease that the CM launches, explain me how you survive when you enter in the deadly zone of a TKM to use your specials (16 m. or less)

If on Ahazi all the PvP players go to battle, unbuffed and unarmoured (and i bet that this is not the case)i might believe that only with your MC skills can you win the fight....

I win fights in PvP, but only thanks to my TKM skills (and my flame single 2)....is sad but true...If i had to trust onlyin my commando skills to win in PvP, nor my buffs, nor my stun/kinetic armor, nor my foods/drinks, nor myIPSG will make me win vs a player with the same buffs/armor...i will only survive a bit longer....

And surely the same could say the MC/MRifleman combo and so on....they rely in their alternative skills to be a match in PvP.....

With the weapon change delay my new PVP tactic is to pray I get a flame dot on the opponent and then run like hell until my vk's are on and then pound the hell out of them. If the flame dot does not stick I rely on my TK skills to win the fight and if it does stick I still rely on my TK skills to win the fight. I hope they fix our commando skills soon.
