Hi

I have a clothing attachment on Chimaera server with the following mods

Heavy Weapons Defence 12, Defence vs Dizzy 7

Would any Chimaeran Commando be interested in buying this item? I would be interested to hear your opinions on the value of this clothing attachment.

As far as I have gatherd it, it's extra defense while holding that weapon. Not defense against that weapon.

That is what it is, a bonus to your defense when holding a heavy weapon. It doesn't matter what type of weapon is hitting you.

Yes I anticipated you saying try the trade forum. I have tried asking there for a price check and got no answer. I thought as there are relatively few commandos around I'd try here.

Thank you for the comments, I also believed until recently that a tape with a Defence mod meant that it was a bonus to defence agains being attacked by the weapon specified, but I now know that it is indeed actually a bonus to your defence while you are USING the weapon specified. Badly worded descriptions on tapes, I think.

Thanks again for your comments. I will just have to hang on to the tape until someone is willing to make an offer.

Good thing to know that these actually exist!

As for the trade forums bit, yeah...always best to go there, but I must admit we're a bit more tolerant of this than other boards on the SWG Forums because...we're great folks, and there many much of us around

Might be worthwhile to check the Commandos Across the Galaxies list of players who are commandos. Although it may not be wise to bombard these commandos with advertisements...but they have been tagged, registered and released into the wild

trade forums would be your best bet ... but that tape only provides defence against a hevavy weapon .... i know only may 3 npcs i have seen use heavy weapons ...

lol never thought of them as defending "against" the weapon. BTW, that's a very good tape, but yeah the trade forums would be best.

hmmm then were they maybe broke? Cause i had something like 15+ and i never saw a difference. If it does work then it would be a pretty good tape ...

I wasnt sure or not if these got added in (knowing our luck i thought maybe not, but wasn't sure). They should stack onto both ranged/melee defense while holding a heavy weapon.

Yeh HW tapes seem to be rather common at least on Starside, I happened across +25 HW defence +24 General ranged speedAA back during the DJM harvest. Defence does add ontop of both ranged and melee defences. Also got a +25 HW speed bando I've beentryin to sell...commandos seem to be generally on the poor side for the most part

Currently no commando tapes work.

My commando has +25 heavy weapon defense +25 heavy weapon speed +25 heavy weapon accuracy.

I take off my clothes/armor and weapons fire at the same speed, hit for the same damage and i take the same damage as I do with them on.

They do not work. TYVM SOE.

Sounds like we have another off and on issue beside AoE ....

Hmmmm i wonder what else works sometimes and not others ......
