Thread: Plasma Flame Thrower

The plasma flamethrowers on the frogs are pretty fast. A 2.8 speed would be pretty decent under todays standards, though the damage range is about what you'd expect (480'ish-840'ish).
I wonder if they'd take existing flamers and "convert" their speed ratings to make them faster (so that an average speed flamethrower now winds up being close to the frog distributed 2.8 speed). I hope so, as I'd like to see what my 2.3 speed flamer turns into.
Well, let's see. The norm on the frogs is 4 speed for live flamers. The norm on the frogs for test center is 2.8...
That puts it at a ratio of 10 to 7, or 70%.
So, 2.3 * 0.3 = 0.69.
2.3 - 0.69 = 1.61.
You're flamer will be roughly the same damage with a 1.61 speed, by my calculations anyway.

The sun is plasma. When I think plasma, blue does not come to mind.
Chuck the physics, we're in a universe where space ships are making whirly noises and you can hear blaster fire - in space. That's a difficult feat in a vaccum ![]()
I think there was a thread not too long ago in which someone proposed a blue flame on the master level weapon. I thought that was a great idea as something to set the two versions apart. The fire effects from the DOT would still be the same, but you'd know a master commando instantly from the distinctive blue flame. I'd also like to see a black finish on the PFT with brass colored fittings.
Alright, I'd like to see about a dozen other things first, no doubt, but this would be pretty darned nifty.

Wood burning... you got plasma there... you know the color. Get some copper powder burning...green... still plasma. The photo emission of de-excited atoms andwhich bands the electrons jump from and to while doingthis determine the wavelength colorComplete combustion of a gas is usually blue though.
This is what I love about this community. Compared to other random member hobby communities, we have some smart peeps. Programmers, scientists, professors, inventors etc. Not to mention a few burger flippers, but I say the avg IQ is around 120. Congrats!
I would like to see a difference.
some bud/s trainees have excelled , but did not garaduate b/c they couldn't pass the final written
go commandos!
