How do you get them to work? i found some cool ones but can't get them to work at all. Please help me here Garvin. You seem to be the man.
Do you mean, how do you get them to show up? or how do you get a link to work?
You can't make outside graphics show up on the forums currently (it's been disabled)...some people recently figured out a way around that, but trust me, that hole will be plugged soon and those people may get a "Talk'n too"...
As for creating an active link to something outside your post, just look at the bottom of the post screen...there are 3 links to the right of the "Submit Post" button...the first is "Edit As HTML"...Choose that...then when you find something you want to link to, add in the following code around the word or words you want to become the link...like:
<a href=http://www.starwarsgalaxies.com>This link my be would</a>.
It will end up looking like:
When done, hit "Submit Post" and your are done...If you try to Preview the post it will often strip the link (I hate that) and if you try and go back in and edit the post it will also strip the link and you have to start over (which is why I don't update that big Links posts stickied at the top very often)...I do use this often to link to other posts...
I'm actually made a post over in the Correspondent forum requesting that they add some more profession specific smilies like the one I suggested...if they do, you'll be able to add it to your Signature...

Sorry...the forums were driving me nuts with not accepting what I typed (it kept auto converting my tags and not accpeting the PRE tag>...So I just went a different route...

Whoa, nice link there Garvin.I think you meant This would be my link. Oh, and by the way, that first example is not work friendly. Boy did I have to close that fast.
I've always had to use < and > when illustrating anchor tags on the forums or it parses it as a link. Stupid Lithium.
