Got to playing around with some grenades a little more after making up a schematic for some C22's for a guy.

Basically Grenades have 3 seperate lines of experimentation

  • Damage & Speed

  • Efficiency - HAM Costs

  • Range

Now if a Weaponsmith puts enough points into the range experimentation it will about effectivly double the Ideal Range on Grenades. But the Downsideon doing that, its going to take away from putting points intofor increasingDamageanddecreasing the speed.

So if you order grenades from someone who is a 12 point weaponsmith, get them to go 5 points damage, 5 points range and 2 points Effeciency and that should give you decent grenades for right now (at least until we can possibly get the HAM Costs lowered). I'm going to try this later with all the other grenade types and get an idea on the effects of all of them.

And something else I've learned (I spend more time on the TC than a live server so forgive me). But it seems that CM's have hardly no HAM costs for tossing Poisons and Diseases, for them its almost like tossingarea stims and if they have entertainer buffs and brandy, they basically haveNO HAM COSTAT ALL. And really a unbuffed CM with just Brandy can do more damage then we can and with less risk to themselves (since they can't poison themselves if they are in the AoE).

Fun With Rocket Launchers

I went with some peeps yesterday to Dathomir to go after the head nightsister (the one that drops the nightsister vibro units). And by golly the rancors droppedfast between my RL's and our swordsman tanks. I was pulling between 2500-3000k xp per kill with just using the Rocket Launchers. And then taking on the Nightsister Protectors, i only targeted one but got xp off all 4 when they died from the blast AoE. And the guys I was with even thought the HPBC was real cool looking when it was shot. But either it how my RL's are built now or something but i didn't miss all that much compared to a couple of months ago.

So I'm going to run off another batch and test them out and see what happens. So Garvin if you see this get with me on the TC in a couple of days for some new Rocket launchers.

Soif you have a Commando on the Test Center, and as long as I'm there Commandos will have access to all the consumable weapons such as the Rocket Launcher, Heavy Particle Beam Cannon, Acid Cannon and Lightning Cannon. And on occasions you will see various grenades as well (I'm hoping to get to the point soon where they can be available all the time).

So keep the fires burning guys.

Ive also been experimenting with the RL's quite fun, cool anims.
The downside being the limited uses and EXTREME resource costs to make them, most of the RL's I use have 30'ish charges.

For those that are too cheap to buy RL's (18-80k is the price range ive seen them) they drop in the Kabola Spice mines the dropped ones are EXTREMELY terrible.. but decent enough to play around with.

How much do you charge for Grenades / RL's BTW?

Being a TC commando, all I can say is "I (heart) Mich'ael." And based on chatting with some commando friends from Live, it is your new RLs. They seem to have a decently higher ideal and slightly higher max range mod than most others I've heard about. I can't wait for the new batch to hit the vendor so I can sit there and keep buying them until I get a good damage slice.

P.S. Shooting Axkva in the teeth with an RL is so worth every penny per round. They even got a shot of my good side, see?

The problem is if you don't have a big enough brick or can't find the right head. The devil is in the details.
