What It takes to Be a Commando

Commando can be defined as. A small fighting force specially trained for making quick destructive raids against enemy-held areas, well according to Webster’s dictionary. Accordingly, SWG commandos are slow, not quick at all and when it comes to being destructive I just have to chuckle. My view of the commando profession is some what like the Canadian military. I am a Canadian, born and raised, who loves his country so don’t take me wrong! Commandos, like the Canada’s military is overlooked even though they are well trained, all to often laughed at, and who needs back up in any type of confrontation which is any SWG commando! Under funded lack of a budget call it what you like!! But something has to be done to make this profession a bit more appealing.

What does it take to be a commando you ask? lots of Balls and patience!!! If you wana PvP with this profession forget it! If you wana blow **edit** up, forget it! It takes a special kinda person to make this profession fly in PvP! I say that all you commandos out their have the most heart in this game don’t give up on it your day of redemption is comming…

I say to SOE, FIX IT!! I don’t care how many hours of overtime it takes to get the combat rebalance out just do it. You are letting down the very people who pay your salary. My suggestion is don’t pay them till it goes live!! Who ever is in charge of the Combat rebalance should be fired, lack of productivity!!! Hire Skeptic or anyone who has played this profession for more than 4 months!! There ya go O’l Buddy!!

Something to think about.......

Nice post man..love the Canadian military analogy.

A few points:

1)Commando is: "small fighting force specially trained for making quick destructive raids against enemy-held areas" per your included definaition. A small fighting force does not mean SOLO. Any military commando unit is made up of mixed arm capability not 6 guys with flmaethrowers. This is what a Commando is .. as a commando my responsibility to my "unit" is to provide destructive support to heavily armored targets(i.e. turrets, Krayts, etc.). A Commando will do this VERY well..you just have to use it for what it is designed for. Commandos in units made of mixed arms is amazingly effective in PvP and PvE, try it sometime.

2) "It takes a special type of person to make this profession flyin PvP" - I agree..you know it can be done so become "special"

3) Grenades miss in RL as do all AOE weapons and explosives werent made to fight people. Use it as it was intended...I mean do you really try and throw mines at a rifleman? Use common sense here bro, you have tools, figure out how to use em.

Oooo me in charge! MUHAHHAH ide have to say the first thing ide do is say screw all you other guys Commandos get back there DOts.

That is something they should DO NOW!
