Thread: A True Star Wars Moment...

Definately a true Star Wars moment...maybe even commando, but using a Flamethrower isnt what I call exciting...nevertheless...

A Mswordsman/Mdoctor was with me on endor looking for Black Sun Henchmen/Assasins..well we found a nice little spawn 2,000 m outside of Smuggler's Outpost by the nearby Ewok Village...and a small LJA Jedi party lvling xp.

This was a static spawn, a HUGE one in fact....they spawned usually in groups of 5+...except two times...

Once was when I was waiting for my swordsman friend to get there, the jedi quickly killed em off and I took out about 5 or so (was a spawn of 30 I believe)

Then...the last huge spawn....I dont know how the hell it happened, but it did....between 2-4 HUGE formations of Black Sun Henchmen...about 10-20 per formation (was battle droid style from the movies) spawned....my radar lit up competely red, just like how it used to be at Fort Tusken...

Of course it seemed a bit bugged, later on sometimes would say out of range for specials, and the Black Sun guys didnt break off from formation...

Thats when I charged them (at this point only 3 or so jedi were there and myself/swordsman friend)...

I charged HEAD ON into at least 2 of the formations, and tagged half to 3/4 of the group with a few flamecones...just freaking awesoume!!!! Both formations began to scatter as I drove a flaming wedge of fire into it.

Squads of them went off in all directions, as I began to chase down several (and the jedi in the background, with my friend staving off a SBD)...I TRUELY felt as if I was in a battlefield...a war...

All I got was 7k creds and a DE 10 Barrel out of it, but just the experience was enough for me :-)....it was just like one of the land battles right out of the movies..guns blasting everywhere, troops in every corner...some commando outshooting dozens of enemy soldiers...was so cool

And best part....Henchmen have 45% heat resists...that and stun are the lowest resists in their armour...so I was actually a pretty big hvy hitter there! Of course 2 Riflemen showed up and began murdering them by the doves (30-40 mins after the big battle above) and even outdamaged the 2 jedi that were left by that time....

Others may not see this as being super cool...but THIS is exactly what we need in combat...battlefields...static battlefields...massive spawns of soldiers, not super strong 220k mobs

Simply put....players would want massive battles such as these...we especially I'd say! In fact...large battles is the very essence of star wars...

Fun. Heh, closest thing I've had to that was heading to the pirate bunker on Naboo and letting loose with fanshot.

Sounds sweet.

Some of the most fun I had was decimating the Imp Outpost on Talus with a few friends for the hell of it. Fought door to door in and out of the buildings. At the time (this was months ago) we were shocked that we made it out with few scratches. But I did what you did, plowed through with Flamecone... pretty cool.

Speaking of Imp bases, the base on rori...I wiped out single-handily...even the AT-ST (30 mins for 22 fp!!!)

There are a couple player-dropped bases on TestCenter I like to frequent—nothing like having 25 Rebel NPCs chasing you in circles while you turn them into walking candles.

I am a master commando and have been for awhile. I just don't think a true Starwars moment includes a flamethrower. Not that it is not fun. But, when I think Starwars a ft is not the first thing that comes to mind.

That sounds fun. It's more fun fighting in a battle field like that than trying to take down one large enemy.

Wanted: Someone to go back in time with me...This is not a joke...You'll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons...Safety is not Guranteed...I have only done this once before...

LOL...this is a cool story. I agree that this is something that would be sweet with the battlefields and soldier spawns.

I would have loved to see you do that...nothing like a female commando running into a formation with a flamer blazing..your husband is a lucky man. If you are Zabrak and did that in hotpants..../passes out

yeah SS has like 10 of em :-P...

What we really need for big battles are:

1) Lots of Space

2) LOTS of foot soldiers (like 50 high lvl NPCs on each side, with a few standards)

3) VEHICLES!!! We need AT-STs, AT-ATs, Rebel Vehicles, Speeders, Etc...

Hopefully Devs are designing land based vehicles for the GCW revamp...

how cool would it be to take control of an NPC tank turret? The AI driving you around while you shoot? Or have several player made tanks like the one I came up before (now buried in posts)?

And better yet....make these areas have their own battle music! And with bombing runs by aircraft!!

We need instanced battlefields on high capacity servers. No more "unplayable lag when >60 people". Battlefields where you die and get kicked out for 15 minutes with all spice timers and stomach empty, so you can rebuff and jump back in once your 15 minute "time out" is gone. Don't see why a square KM of each planet (or more) couldn't be put on an uber server cluster and set aside for PVP.

but you really should have whipped out some proton grenades, AP and heat damage! Combat exp come to papa!

Sounds like it was heaps of fun.

I agree, large battlefields would freaking rawk. I have my own story of when I was on Endor hunting with my guild...I fell behind the group as they were going to the next mission, and as I'm walking along, a stormtrooper platoon walks into a clearing out of the forest. So what's a rebel commando with a flamethrower supposed to do? I rush in to the middle of the group and start flameconing. They all scatter, and within minutes, I've chased them all down. Stormtrooper corpses are scattered around the clearing. It was great! This is what we need, I think. Straight out war.
