You know what I would like to see? The DOT do damage every second. If instead of it doing 1000 every 10 seconds it did 100 every second it would be much better. The way I see it if I catch on fire I am not going to have to wait 10 seconds for it to damage me, it will happen begin damaging me immediately and continue to do so the entire time I am on fire. Just my thoughts.

Actually I would be against this...
1) More important things atm
2) Do you realize how much more lag this would cause??? We dont want our Flamer to become like the LP!!! =P

cool concept though....
I personally don't think that it would be as simple a code as we think, direct x 9 is a beast!!

That's why I said post-CB in the title.
Maybe they could tie it in with the release of a particle density slider that actually works...
Edit: Let's put it this way, it couldn't cause that much more lag than firing the special does I wouldn't think (which on my old GeForce 3 was non-existant.)

I was just thinking to myself about what would be a really cool change, after everything else is done, and came to a conclusion:
We need to have a our fire DoT be a visual animation!
I mean, it really doesn't do justice to the flamethrower to see the little red thingie every 10 seconds or so. While the fire DoT is on, the person should be burning! (ie. their body is enveloped in flames while they run around.)
It might seem like a simple change, but it would help immersion immensly, and look cool to boot! (Plus the added advantage of having your oponnent being intimidated due to being enveloped in a pillar of flame.)
Thoughts?

Very cool idea, but for some reason I'm thinking it's nigh impossible with all the different sized creatures out there. Unless it would only count towards pc/npcs.

Hmm, true, didn't think about that. Though it would be fun to see something like a Faamba completely engulfed in flames!
For simplicity's sake, perhaps we could say that the flame affect would occupy a humanoid-sized area.
